weird-azz lineup.
And holy shit, this Banks guy on SD is a beast.
And can we plzzzzzz have Wagner from the Mets?
The 2008 Cleveland Indians: Home of the Triple Steal, Unassisted Triple Play, and not a heck of a lot more.
Must remember Banks pitching vs. San Fran, which is like taking the indians current lineup, giving them a dose of intestinal flu for a week and forcing them to wear pumps. not much punch.
this should be fun tonight . . . not to jinx us, but if we have had anything resembling a ‘can’t lose’ game in a while, this should be it.
no hammy has its + and its -

Jim Rosenhaus is doing pbp. Hamilton is back in Ohio for his son’s HS graduation. Hammy will be back on Monday in Texas.

Well, if you’re gonna bring reality into the picture, I can point out that there’s a rocky marathon on WGN. We’re at the beginning of the Drago fight in Rocky IV at the moment.
I always remember the WTAM feed being ahead of the cable feed. Now, STO is about 3 seconds ahead of WTAM. Has it been this way all year?
I’m not sure how I feel about Rosenhaus right now, anyway. I just switched the Kansas feed on Gameday.
I’m sorta liking Rosenhaus. He’s not perfect, but he’s a nice back-up option for pbp. Its all part of the organizational philosophy of depth.

So strange to me that Butler hasn’t taken off yet. His minor league numbers were Jay Bruce-ian.

On a mildly related note, I can only hope that there are lots of Orioles fans pitching a fit about the Adam Jones trade.

I haven’t been following the O’s that closely, so I looked up his stats on Yahoo! Interesting photo..

Lurker. Posted through the second half of last year, but I hated the old interface so much I just stopped. Recently rediscovered.
These guys were always supposed to be Indians. If Ryan Mulhern and Jason Cooper are starting tomorrow, break out the Bills gear.

THAT I would show up for. That’s actually how I rediscovered this site, somebody linked to the ML WPA analysis a few weeks back.

Why do they persist in the banter that when Grady DH’s, he paces the clubhouse with his nostrils flared, tearing an old mitt apart with his teeth? Has anybody asked Grady about this? Maybe he thinks it’s cool?

1. I have no idea what the Z thing is. Honestly.
2. iTunes is being run by Mrs. Tabs tonight, and the current selection is “La Isla Bonita.”
Reminds me of my only happy memory from 7th grade. Jockiest of our class jocks sat next to me in algebra all year, cheated. We get to the exam, I finally cover my answers. He furrows his brow, sighs, raises his hand: “Wait, Mrs. Watson, how can you add a letter?”
by fleerdon on May 31, 2008 8:17 PM EDT up reply actions
Z is the same as C, except that Z marks the current comment as “already read” before advancing to the next one.
Does that mean it will skip over already messages the next time through. Drives me crazy when C goes over messages I’ve read already.

He’s costing himself money, anyway. I guess that’s good for us in the long run… ?
I'll regress to my career numbers if you do too!
No. He either gives us quality innings or trade value. That’s it.
Rooting for him to do poorly for the sake of his contract is like wishing teams like the Yankees had more money to piss.

Well, Indians have tried the line drive outs. Royals have tried the seeing-eye groundballs, infield singles, and infield choppers. Results, unfortunately, favor the lucky so far.

Hey guys, just got here. Just wondering – how does CC get thru 6 innings with only 81 pitches but give up 4 ER? Was he unlucky or something? This seems odd.

Enough of defending Victor. 150+ AB’s without an HR? Looked like he missed some hittable pitches there. Has he had one of his patented crap stretches that have lasted this long?
wasn’t there an entire first half of ‘06 stink stretch? like a sub-.250 BA for the first half

Go go former Tribe.
Looking at the Pirates box score. Michaels and Gomez both got hits and are hitting .300+ ... Luis Rivas hit a grand slam. The Pirates (!!) now have a better record than us.
Not that I pine for any of those three players, but it just makes you wonder if there is a vortex of suck hanging over Carnegie and Ontario.
May I recommend catching “The Kids in the Hall” while they are on tour. I did so tonight in Cleveland and it was the funnest thing I have been witness too in the past few months.
