I almost went.

The Disabled List just called ... it was trying to unload Joe Borowski. I offered a bagel but balked at giving up a ham sandwich. It wanted to keep Westbrook.

Good to see we’re countering Halliday with our third best lefty.

by SuddenSam on May 9, 2008 7:05 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

we better not lose to a team that signs FAs in the afternoon then plays them at night.

Pat Tabler just said “CC is rounding into shape”. I giggled.

by supermarioelia on May 9, 2008 7:06 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

are you sitting next to pat tabler? is really gainfully employed as an annoucer somewhere? most importantly, does he still maintain one of the all-time mullets?

by DontCallMeJoey on May 9, 2008 7:11 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

colour man for the jays

by DontCallMeJoey on May 9, 2008 7:14 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Tabler’s pretty bad, but when he gets a day off we get to listen to Rance Mullinicks…so I’ll take Tabler thank you very much.

I think I read in the PD that Blake has the best career numbers against Halladay, albeit just 4-11. I do hope we see Marte twice this series, though it’s four tough righties in a row.

by TribeJay on May 9, 2008 7:17 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Right, because we can really use Blake’s .238/.307/.413 line vs. RHP.

by fleerdon on May 9, 2008 7:19 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Hammy with the Justin-bashing.

Over-under for Tribe runs in the series: 10

by TribeJay on May 9, 2008 7:18 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

I said a couple days ago that whatever the over/under for either team was this series I’d take the under.

Thank goodness the o/u for the Jays is about 5

by supermarioelia on May 9, 2008 7:19 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Over – only because they are playing 4 games. One of ‘em has to be a stinker for the Jays

by steincat on May 9, 2008 7:19 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Patience tonight boys…Doc averaging over 8 innings per start this year. And no, that first inning wasn’t what I had in mind.

by supermarioelia on May 9, 2008 7:19 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Halladay’s been ridiculous this year. Perhaps another 1-0 game, this time for the good guys.

by xrickx on May 9, 2008 7:19 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Inglett is 7-21 for Jays. Too bad Johnny Mac just went on the DL.

by palcal on May 9, 2008 7:19 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

sorry 10-33 overall, 7-21 on the road

playing LF,RF as well as 3B

Haha for once your stats are kinda useless.

by supermarioelia on May 9, 2008 7:21 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

CC you just walked Kevin Mench. KEVIN MENCH. Smarten up.

by supermarioelia on May 9, 2008 7:22 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Yeah, CC looked really good right away, but he’s having trouble with the fastball.

by TribeJay on May 9, 2008 7:23 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

For some reason when I look at CC tonight I think the word “throwing”

by supermarioelia on May 9, 2008 7:24 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Yeah, when he limits falling off the mound, he’s better.

Thank you, Lyle.

by TribeJay on May 9, 2008 7:25 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Just feels that when the ball leaves his hand he’s praying he hits the strike zone. Contrast that to Cliff Lee who tells the ball where it better fucking go.

by supermarioelia on May 9, 2008 7:26 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

...and if it doesn’t, it’s in BIG trouble.

by TribeJay on May 9, 2008 7:27 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

He’s just not missing close to the zone, so there’s no reason to swing.

I’m here! Ish! This is going to be exciting. (I’m going to end up missing bunches because my router is still made of such endless epic fail. Boo regular disconnections.)

Ump’s helping CC out a bit I would say.

by supermarioelia on May 9, 2008 7:29 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

If so, marginally. That might have been an inch off the plate.

by TribeJay on May 9, 2008 7:30 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Good pitch, regardless.

by TribeJay on May 9, 2008 7:30 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

With this wildness I’m hesitant to say that CC actually meant to put it there. A strike’s a strike I guess.

by supermarioelia on May 9, 2008 7:31 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

5 K’s in 2 innings – if he gets this strike-throwing thing down, he could do much better…

by TribeJay on May 9, 2008 7:29 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Not sure about that.. If he starts throwing over the plate, bad things happen.

by lesterjl on May 9, 2008 7:30 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

on pace for 22.

Wow 37 through 2. Time to get efficient.

by supermarioelia on May 9, 2008 7:30 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Yeah, because odds are Halladay will go the distance. We need to scratch out a run or two.

by TribeJay on May 9, 2008 7:31 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Wow, that cutter is ridiculous. You make Victor look bad, you’ve done well.

by TribeJay on May 9, 2008 7:32 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Let’s hope the jays playbyplay just reverse jinxed Vic.

by supermarioelia on May 9, 2008 7:32 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

How so? I have UnderManning on.

by TribeJay on May 9, 2008 7:32 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Just made a huuuuge deal of how Vic doesn’t have a homer yet.

by supermarioelia on May 9, 2008 7:33 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Wikerson went 3-3 last week in Cleveland the day before he was cut by the Mariners.

by palcal on May 9, 2008 7:33 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Wow, that was a nice at-bat Jhonny…

by TribeJay on May 9, 2008 7:33 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

I would’ve paid for some Jamie Carroll action tonight to milk these pitch counts.

by supermarioelia on May 9, 2008 7:34 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Pronk so far with easily the best Indians atbat of the night.

by supermarioelia on May 9, 2008 7:35 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Hey, when you’re struggling, just don’t swing unless forced to!

by TribeJay on May 9, 2008 7:35 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

He actually looked like he had a clue there. I love action by inaction.

Good eye buddy good eye.

Just got here. I am a huge fan of C.C. K’s.

by Voltaire on May 9, 2008 7:36 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

This is the second game of the night for me. Just got back from watching my brother’s HS team run rule the bad guys, 17-3. I would say let’s hope it’s a preview for the Tribe, but I cannot be that optimistic for some reason.
