A blow to cynics who criticize the AL East centered nature of baseball today. By which I mean, I am surprised.

Sure. The game in TX was in June. His May line was pretty fine.

I don’t trust anyone to ever notice us is all. He deserves it, I just didn’t think he’d get it.

It’s kind of funny how Gillette sponsors an award often given to someone not old enough to shave.

While you have to love seeing Cliffey and Laffey getting nods for their performances, it’s hard not to feel a wisp of regret that our year is still in severe danger of slipping beneath the waves, regardless of our pitching depth. Grrr.

But mauichuck said:
“Laffey has no shot at RotM – none, zero as long as there is any other option associated with either the Yankees or the Red Sox.”

I’m stunned. Who wouldda thought that merit would creep into the voting. I may hafta re-calibrate my percieved ESPN/BoSox/Yankees bias – nah, this was just a fluke.

Boston and New York always win these awards. Remember when that douche Pedroia won the AL ROY over a totally more deserving Delmon Young.

Also, I can’t believe the Yankee Captain won the MVP in 2006 over the more qualified Justin Morneau.

Oh, I knew you were joking. It’s just the fact that an immature punk would have won either way applied there.

I just hate that our season is where a rookie of the month award is the best news of the week.
Although, we won a series!

If we go in the tank for 3 or 4 years you’ll learn to cling to little victories like this.
