did they just switch Choo and Francisco?
1) when is the last time two position players just switched like that?
2) Why no Gutz?
They’ve all come to my site :D
Really…we should all soak in the day that Jamey Carroll became a beast.

I went to look up where Steve Stone is now and trying to keep from sobbing after learning he’s on radio for the White Sox.
Shoot, I just posted this on the first game thread. Didn’t know Chuck already had it.

It’s ok, it actually makes listening to sox games really entertaining. And you can always root against them (sometimes it seems like Stone actually is)
Rooney and Farmer together were a little too solipsistic for my tastes (“so i’m in church the other week, and father mcstuffnsuch is talking about golf…”) but Stone keeps Farmer more on topic. They’re very good together.
I’d just forgotten that I read that. Thanks. Thanks a lot.

This is when you miss Kenny Lofton on the team. Pound for pound, best fighter in baseball.

Okay, hypothetical question for the group.
Grady Sizemore, young star, cover of SI, long-term contract … comes out of the closet.
What happens?
We all come out with him.

Wow, I would love to see it, but I wish it was someone more nationally recognized as great. Someone the non-baseball fan would think of a good baseball player.

who wins in a fight wedge or twins manager who i don’t know how to spell his last name?

But he must have loved that Wedge was willing to scream about him.

Start of something new?
Has Wedge been hiding his real feelings all this time?
Keeping Marte on the bench because he’s afraid people will figure out …

I have to say, it’s one of the more credible explanations I can come up with.

wedge has a massive personal collection of “mrs. marte” jerseys that he wears (sleeveless) under his uni every game. i can see it.

Don’t try and fool me no more, Eric; I know what it means! Andy Marte. Nasty Marte! You didn’t go up there to fish!

agreed. They might sign Marte long term just to make sure he never plays baseball for anyone else either.

no, but he did get doubled off on a fly ball (even if it wasn’t his fault)

isn’t this our first series win since the A’s….i hate interleague play…i blame the sweep by the reds for everything bad in 2008

We’ll see if we go back into underwater mode playing the Padres. Cleveland hasn’t looked good against the NL since Charlie Manuel had Sabathia bat against the Reds? Pirates? with the bases loaded.
can someone help those w/o video understand how the twins rocked a 8-7-6-3 DP?
by DontCallMeJoey on Jun 12, 2008 10:13 PM EDT reply actions
Fly ball, caught by the centerfielder. Dropped while transferring to throwing hand, still an out. Picked up by left fielder. Thrown back to infield, cut off by short stop, and Marte doubled off at first because he thought the center fielder dropped it.
You know, the average 8-7-6-3 double play.
