Game Thread II - Heading Into Saturday
This is the new thread for the Indians Padres game on Friday. Will be Saturday in no time. Andrew likes martinis. Mario likes Sowers' legs. Jody is a Padre. Banks' ERA is skyrocketing. Kouzmanoff is hitting 254. They have lots of ex-indians.

DH FRANCISCO IMMEDIATELY.
I don’t understand why this is so difficult. Why is Dellucci getting at bats?

Well in this case there is a 33% chance of it happening. Think if Bard wasn’t on the DL.

Classic Sowers… hang around for a few innings and watch the line drives get scalded all over the place. Francisco… holy christ does he not have a clue out there.

My eyes keep kinda glazing over just trying to read the boxscore thus far, much less the comment thread.

or nationality. the guy is hilarious, by the way. thinks he’s a smart know-it-all diehard and is probably the stupidest Tribe fan I’ve ever met. Some of his gems:
1. After Westbrook saw the specialist, I asked the guy at lunch if he’d heard anything about the results. He said “no, Jake’s just day-to-day.
2. He was trying to convince me that C.C. will still be under our control in 2009 because of “arbitration rules.”
This guy’s a co-worker, so I’m gonna get this gems all summer.

Yeah, I found it hard to believe, but the guy’s source was rock-solid. “This guy on the radio” was explaining it all, and it was clear radio dude knew what he was talking about. Work dude is convinced C.C. is not going to be a FA.

Wait, like, now?? I just assumed this was a statement he made during the offseason or something.
I promise unless it’s Triv (who I would never listen to in a million years but knows nothing about sports), he didn’t hear this on the radio. They’re not even that stupid. His impending FA is all they talk about.
Just, I don’t know, start making really heavy bets with him. Get witnesses.

And yes, he is convinced that arbitration means that C.C. will be on our club in 2009.

He could be trying some new “techniques” to get the save. Todd Jones mentioned something on Monday about getting serious about the game around the fifth inning. Before then it’s hazing time for the “young, inexperienced” Tigers.
