Actually they may put up six runs with this line-up in Coors Field. Let’s watch.

Just to clarify, Russell Branyan sucks, right?

not really…last season was the first season in his career that he received semi-regular playing time and failed to put up an OPS+ over 100. He’s pretty much always had monster power, a huge K-rate, a low batting average, but a decent walk-rate. His career line is .231/.329/.487. That’s not a line without some value if properly used.

this is probably true, but would any team with a good shot at the postseason want him playing in more than 2/3 of their games?

2/3 might be on the high end, if only because his defense is less than stellar. But he displays enough power against RHP and LHP to be a semi-regular against righties and a late-inning pinch-hitter.

Woulda thunk in 2008 Richie Sexson would be broken and Russell Braynan is thriving.

Actually, that pic reminds me that Guido Fonseca started tonight for Mahoning Valley—went 3 decent innings, 5 K’s.

RP: Derrick Turnbow, Milwaukee, $3.37 million – The Brewers should have just designated him for assignment before the season. Instead, they got 25 baserunners in 6 1/3 innings before they sent him to Triple-A, where he’s now trying to become a starter. He has walked 30 in 11 1/3 innings.
Holy crap! I used to like watching him pitch last year.

That was taken from this list. All-Overpaid/Underpaid teams. The only Indian to make it was Grady (underpaid of course).

Taveras and Ichiro are both 30/32 in stolen base attempts in 2008. That’s some speed.
