Jeff Stevens to Buffalo
The Buffalo Bisons today announced that RHP Jeff Stevens has been promoted to the Herd from Double-A Akron. To make roster room, LHP Reid Santos was transferred to Double-A Akron.

Hmm .. interesting. I thought Newsom would get the move up and then Stevens would close for Akron.
Looks like a September (or sooner) callup for Stevens is imminent, unless he performs poorly.

They wasted no time getting Stevens his debut. He has already pitched today in the Buffalo game, one of those weird morning games. 1.0 IP, all zeros and 1 K.

Interesting. We hoped Stevens would be last year’s Jensen Lewis. Turns out he might pass Lewis on the way to that role.

i thought we’d see both stevens and santos for extended periods this season. i thought raffy perez would get injured and we’d need a lefty.
