ahh – I took that as “if we sweep them, do we get to take Lincecum too?”

I was there last night. GREAT game to be at.

Yeah but he can’t hit .444 in the big leagues.
He needs a level between the majors and AAA to work out his problems, apparently.
He needs to face some pitchers that stop giving him good pitches to hit?

that’s funny, b/c asdrubal has had zero salads this summer.

If the Indians want Asdrubal Cabrera to be a shortstop, he’s going to … WAIT A SECOND HERE.

I saw the Giants play in Washington. I remember two things:
1) Lincecum is incredible. I thought for sure he’d no hit the nats.
2) Jose Castillo hit 4 of the hardest hit balls I’ve ever seen from one bat in one game, including two no-doubt home runs.
I don’t even know who Jose Castillo is. Screw the NL.

I saw the Giants play in San Francisco. All I remember is that I didn’t recognize the names of most of the guys on the field, and they only managed one run off of some schlub the Padres rolled out who I’d also never heard of.
Despite all of my best intentions, I have not, in fact, grown up to be a debaser.

We should have gotten our hands on Arroyo when that Reds fan was trying to set us up with him.

We’ve also been lacking beat-boxers since Coco left, and I don’t hear anybody complaining about that.

They make those Pittsburgh styled sandwiches with the frenchfries added to the pack. There’s one in Lakewood, near my boyhood home, and I know of one in Cleveland Heights which attracts a slightly classier crowd (but it gets pretty crowded there).
I’ve been to Cleveland. I don’t really know how to “party down” once there. I don’t know anyone in Cleveland and nobody really wants to go there.
I moved away, and everyone I know got married and got jobs. Many have left the homeland. I no longer party down in Cleveland. When I do go home now it’s all business. I’m more likely to party down in any city but Cleveland.
That said, I have fond memories of partying down in my city. If you ever have an excuse to go there-a concert, a ballgame, a convention, whatever-by all means go and party down.
I’ll be there partying down all next week, since I had to change my Chicago trip

He’s only had 11 at-bats with RISP. I can excuse the guy not being ready to hit in the few times he does play.
Despite all of my best intentions, I have not, in fact, grown up to be a debaser.
Aren’t we ignoring the real problem? That his average is too low?
by fleerdon on Jun 24, 2008 7:53 PM EDT up reply actions
Hammy makes the point that Marte’s looking for his first RBI & then notes that he’s only had 48 at-bats. Maybe if he’d managed more than two weeks worth of at-bats in the first HALF of the season, he’d have an RBI. Sigh.
Despite all of my best intentions, I have not, in fact, grown up to be a debaser.
I’ve been trying to popularize the phrase, “Let’s throw a Dandy Andy Marte Par-tay.” Anyone?

I see the law of unintended consequences biting me in the ass here, but I’ll back you up on this one.

I wish Aaron was being a little more efficient. I’d much rather have him on the mound than the guys in our pen.
From CBS Sportsline commentary:
Are the Indians ever going to demote this Marte joke ? Every time I’ve got an Indians pitcher for my fantasy going here’s this guy playing instead of Blake wth ??
Ok fine he doesn’t know that Marte can’t be sent to AAA, but calling Blake as a replacement…just odd.
The batter swings and the summer flies...
And also, does Miggy really ever hit doubles any more? I figured he had to stop at 1st and get some oxygen and a donut before continuing.
