Once again – SAL FASANO.

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 6:45 PM EDT   0 recs

So some bored pre-game clicking led me to Jay’s only FanPost on Reds Reporter. Yikes.

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 6:57 PM EDT   0 recs

Where is everybody? It’s Indians baseball!

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 7:04 PM EDT   0 recs

One down

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 7:06 PM EDT   0 recs

Crapitty crap. Dunn solo shot.

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 7:07 PM EDT   0 recs

Byrd should NEVER pitch to Dunn.

Walking Grady.

This isn’t great discussion, but I don’t own any tribe gear, never have. These jerseys are the closest I’ve come to wanting one.

by joeee on Jun 28, 2008 7:14 PM EDT   0 recs

Are they wearing the alternates?

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 7:15 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Yessir. Looks sharp.

by joeee on Jun 28, 2008 7:16 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I second.

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 7:17 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I don’t have any Tribe gear either. Just this here Lake County Captains cap.

by jhon on Jun 28, 2008 7:19 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Strange, I also own a Captains hat.

by joeee on Jun 28, 2008 7:20 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

If anyone is lurking, please post so I know there’s more than three of us here.

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 7:17 PM EDT   0 recs

I’m here, just ambivalent.

by Jay on Jun 28, 2008 7:19 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Jay’s here, just inchoate.

by joeee on Jun 28, 2008 7:20 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Just got here…digging the new gamecast 3D

by Chief Wahoo on Jun 28, 2008 7:17 PM EDT   0 recs

I hate the way it shifts every time I mouse over it, which I do by accident. What is the point of the angled views? I want the heads-up so I can see the actual strike zone. I position it that way and it keeps drifting. Grr.

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 7:19 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

yea I agree – this new view thing does nothing for me.

Why do people say “seconded” all the time?

Is there a motion on the floor?

Will we be voting?

I would submit to you that there is no motion, and we will not be voting.

by jhon on Jun 28, 2008 7:23 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

How can Hammy say the AL central has won 24 straight when we’ve lost twice in the past 5 days?

The 2008 Cleveland Indians: Home of the Triple Steal, Unassisted Triple Play, and not a heck of a lot more.

by westbrook on Jun 28, 2008 7:21 PM EDT   0 recs

I was wondering the exact same thing.

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 7:21 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Look at the standings, current streaks shows:

Won 3
Won 10
Won 3
Won 2
Won 6

That’s what he means.

by Jay on Jun 28, 2008 7:32 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

so we think Hammy really thinks AL central teams have won 24 in a row?

Sal Fasano can deal.

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 7:22 PM EDT   0 recs

Fasano is sporting an unfortunately normal goatee.

by joeee on Jun 28, 2008 7:22 PM EDT   0 recs

This too shall pass.

by Jay on Jun 28, 2008 7:23 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I am rec’ing this entire thread because of the Fasano appearance. The new gameday = pretty sweet. Unfortunately I have to go to a function.

Godspeed, Sals.

Didn’t the minors make him shave his stache? He said he was growing it back.

by obobcatu on Jun 28, 2008 7:26 PM EDT   0 recs

Maybe Hammy was adding the winning streaks of the 5 AL Central teams against the NL
Minn 10, KC 6, Chicago 3, Det 3, Cle 2 = 24
a novel way of looking at things

by palcal on Jun 28, 2008 7:33 PM EDT   0 recs

Stepping out, will be back.

by Jay on Jun 28, 2008 7:34 PM EDT   0 recs

How does product placement work in the MLB? Does your team get a contract with like Nike or Adidas and you’re stuck with that? Or do you order all your own stuff?

by joeee on Jun 28, 2008 7:35 PM EDT   0 recs

order your own stuff through the team*

by joeee on Jun 28, 2008 7:36 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Stache slam? Oh, it would just be too much

by Chief Wahoo on Jun 28, 2008 7:36 PM EDT   0 recs

I didn’t even think “oh, the bases are loaded for Fasano” ... 2 outs with Fasano up automatically registers in my head as “inning over”... already, after like a week of him.

Just read the trade fan post (Stark Rumblings/Grumblings). I’m glad to see most here share my ‘surrender the season’ attitude too. We’re so far out of first, though admittedly the division remains “winnable”. Four of our core players, guys who were essential pieces on the playoff team a year ago, each have significant injuries, and there is no reason to try to establish an incentive for them to rush back too soon. Let them recuperate fully and get ready for april ‘09. Auction off CC, see if anyone is willing to pay Byrd the rest of this season, and sell Blake to a team in need of a bearded superutility player. Dare I suggest they should let Marte play? We can only hope they do. Let’s see what we have in Choo, Gutz (though if someone wants him, then buh bye Gutz), Francisco, and whoever else it may be reasonable to call up from the farm and let play on the big stage. The season has been over for a couple weeks, and prolonging the illusion that we’re still “in it” is only us spinning our wheels. The Tribe need to put themselves in the best position to win in ‘09, and that starts by acknowledging that this year’s ship is sunk. Hopefully Shapiro reads LGT.

Gutz 0-18, Garko 0-13, Fasano 0-4

“Tribe’s Carmona, Hafner still healing from injuries”

Awesome update that just showed up in my ESPN.com MLB RSS feed. Ugh…

I’m back. The pizza has been eaten. You can all calm down.

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 7:52 PM EDT   0 recs

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 7:54 PM EDT   0 recs

Please. I know we’re depressed, but it’s the Cleveland Indians. Let’s gamethread.

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 7:59 PM EDT   0 recs

We haven’t seen Mujica in 2 weeks and Bauer in 11 days. This could be their night.

by JulioBernazard on Jun 28, 2008 8:11 PM EDT   0 recs

So the Indians had a chance early and Garko didn’t get the run home. Did he at least hit it hard?

by xrickx on Jun 28, 2008 8:12 PM EDT   0 recs

I’m back, Volt. We can carry this thing.

by Jay on Jun 28, 2008 8:13 PM EDT   0 recs

Deal. clap clap clap

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 8:13 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Actually, I’ll tell you how depressing it is, I’ve been revisiting my first Tribe forum (think of it as my kindergarten) and laughing at the mortals.

Shapiro needs to look at blowing it up now or there will be nothing left to blow up in a couple years. This core of players, obviously less Sizemore who it wouldn’t pay you to get rid of, has about run its course and it’s time for some serious rebuilding IMHO, hopefully around Sizemore and Carmona.

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 8:15 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Sigh.

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 8:18 PM EDT   0 recs

I actually have found myself loving this team in spite of this season. Which is good, I guess.

by Voltaire on Jun 28, 2008 8:26 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I thought so, but I couldn’t figure out why. So it’s an attempt to put a little vibe on CC?

by SuddenSam on Jun 28, 2008 8:31 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

A little vibe on C.C., a little vibe on just remembering that teams are built in strange ways.
