This isn’t great discussion, but I don’t own any tribe gear, never have. These jerseys are the closest I’ve come to wanting one.
I hate the way it shifts every time I mouse over it, which I do by accident. What is the point of the angled views? I want the heads-up so I can see the actual strike zone. I position it that way and it keeps drifting. Grr.
this is another reason on-ball tracking devices would be awesome.

I love these blatantly unsubstantial ricoh commercials which advocate pretty looking reports or “ideas”
How can Hammy say the AL central has won 24 straight when we’ve lost twice in the past 5 days?

How does product placement work in the MLB? Does your team get a contract with like Nike or Adidas and you’re stuck with that? Or do you order all your own stuff?
Just read the trade fan post (Stark Rumblings/Grumblings). I’m glad to see most here share my ‘surrender the season’ attitude too. We’re so far out of first, though admittedly the division remains “winnable”. Four of our core players, guys who were essential pieces on the playoff team a year ago, each have significant injuries, and there is no reason to try to establish an incentive for them to rush back too soon. Let them recuperate fully and get ready for april ‘09. Auction off CC, see if anyone is willing to pay Byrd the rest of this season, and sell Blake to a team in need of a bearded superutility player. Dare I suggest they should let Marte play? We can only hope they do. Let’s see what we have in Choo, Gutz (though if someone wants him, then buh bye Gutz), Francisco, and whoever else it may be reasonable to call up from the farm and let play on the big stage. The season has been over for a couple weeks, and prolonging the illusion that we’re still “in it” is only us spinning our wheels. The Tribe need to put themselves in the best position to win in ‘09, and that starts by acknowledging that this year’s ship is sunk. Hopefully Shapiro reads LGT.
Made it home just in time to see Paul Bako do what he’s been doing for 10 years: crushing hopes and dreams with his bat. Usually, though, the hopes and dreams being crushed are those of the team on his jersey.

Actually, I’ll tell you how depressing it is, I’ve been revisiting my first Tribe forum (think of it as my kindergarten) and laughing at the mortals.
Shapiro needs to look at blowing it up now or there will be nothing left to blow up in a couple years. This core of players, obviously less Sizemore who it wouldn’t pay you to get rid of, has about run its course and it’s time for some serious rebuilding IMHO, hopefully around Sizemore and Carmona.
that was a pretty good game, sans the result. Which I think has taken some excitement out of this one.

Kenny Williams caught so much crap for dealing this offseason as if his team was a contender. And while they’ll probably win 88 games or so this year (yes, I know they’re on pace for 91), Williams guessed right. We all thought the Tigers would have pitching issues. But who would have thought the Indians and Tigers would be here. If anything, it just serves as a reminder to Shapiro and Co. that with a few tweaks this offseason, they’re right back in it. Alternating years of success, I guess, is better than none.
You think he guessed that the Indians and Tigers would both fall apart, and that he only needed to win 88 games?
I don’t think he guessed that. But then again, I don’t know what the hell he was thinking, so maybe it was that.
It couldn’t have been a “On paper, we’re better than the Indians and Tigers.”
The White Sox will suffer a fate similar to the Mariners struggle from 2007 to 2008. The Sox bullpen is overachieving, from Thorton, to Logan, to Masset, to Linebrink, and even Dotel, who hasn’t been this good since 2003…with Houston, in that other League. All of them will have another full run on their ERA in 2009.
You guys can be excited about the next Sizemore from the deal. I wanna know who’s the next that guy.
I was joking that everyone here on LGT wants to know who the top prospects we’re going to acquire are. I want to know who the useless veteran stuck in the deal for some random reason will be.
Okay, I get it. I was too stupid to get that’s what you meant. I thought it was something like you were guessing Gagne was my new picture.
he’s opsing .800 with bad defense.

They’re channeling the ghost of Bartolo Colon’s deadline deal in the spirit of CC’s upcoming departure.
Not a trade-off or a throw-in, but he represents everything good about 2002.
And, as a side note, when you google only his name, more shirtless pictures than is healthy appear.
I’ll give you a hint. He once hit 50 homeruns as a leadoff man in a single season, nearly 1/4th of all the HR he hit in his 15 year career.
I thought about deadline deal players, but the Indians staffed some quality 4A roster fodder that year. I was going to go with Bruce Aven, but I don’t even know what he looks like.
Of all the guys hit by pitches tonight, none of them is Brandon Phillips.
I’m sad about that.
I’m also sad that the great Sal Fasano could only get to first base.
Free Andy Marte!
When did we get to the point with our bullpen that Rafael Perez comes out of the bullpen before Scott Elarton?
Free Andy Marte!
We just brought in Scott Elarton to clean up Rafael Perez’ mess.

Do we want Elarton coming into games that are close-ish at all?

If Blake commits an error in the forrest, does Marte hear it?

He’s too busy playing dominoes and hungering for an opportunity.

Twins? I know they are a division rival, but they have some intriguing arms. And the Indians aren’t rivaling anything this year.
Phillis? Pedro Feliz can play defense. and he signed a two year deal. Hm…but maybe.
Angels? Chone Figgins can move to 2B
BrewCrew? Branyan won’t keep this up.
.
Yankees? Their 3B is anti-clutch and ours defines clutch.

Blake’s range as a SS probably rivals that of Jeter.

I can’t even begin to imagine the return for Casey. I don’t know if I expect Ricardo Rincon for Marshall MacDougal or Jacob Cruz for Josh Bard/Jody Gerut.
He plays GREAT defense, too!

Jason Dubois, acquired for Jody Gerut.

I don’t even want Marte to play right now. Keep showcasing Blake, pray he doesn’t have a horrendous week.
Well he ALMOST chased a strike, so that’s progress.

Here’s another one: Mike Cameron.
And we could take back Kendall if we were sending Shoppach. Which I don’t think we will.
other teams might look at blake as an OF instead of a 3B
The 2008 Cleveland Indians: Home of the Triple Steal, Unassisted Triple Play, and not a heck of a lot more.
Or a 2B!
He was reportedly rumored to have been rumored to have been discussed as a possible 2B option that one time!
my point is, that Cameron sounds unlikely to be included in a deal, but Blake could play the OF in his place.
The 2008 Cleveland Indians: Home of the Triple Steal, Unassisted Triple Play, and not a heck of a lot more.
I was thinking the Brewers might like Gutz for CF, plus they have Gwnn Jr. and Kapler, but Corey Hart can probably handle CF, allowing the Brewers to get a corner OF bat elsewhere.
I hope you encased them in vinyl sheets. I would hate to see mother nature ruin such valuable items.
