Ok, Mr. Sabean, see… Blake can play first base and Velandia is one hell of a 2b. Mind giving us Lincecum for the pair? I’m really hesitant to do this, as we might be getting robbed long-term.

Choo hit it hard into center. Probably not going to the wall but maybe. Hairston slides to cuts it off and hits it with his shin. The ball goes about 20 feet into RF, allowing Francisco to score and Choo to go to 3rd. And it’s ruled an error and Underpants disagrees.

The thing that sucks about the 1B platoon, however, is in getting the guy who hits lefties at bats. This should be workable, however: Garko can platoon at DH w/ Hafner in ‘09. That takes care of that.

Dear Customer:
Please be advised effective immediately the following title will be cut out, and will no longer be available.
69000 CD ARROYO, BRONSON Covering The Bases 0-7559-69000-2-7
All returns of the above mentioned titles must be received by WEA Corporation by Friday, December 26, 2008. Product received after this date will be returned to the sender, and no credit will be issued.

9 1/2 behind the White Sox, 8 behind the Twins, what is it, 5 behind Detroit? If C.C makes one more start for this team, then it borders on irresponsible management. More than the Marte situation, more than the off-season inactivity, etc. It’s not possible to have Sabathia’s value (or Blake’s for that matter) higher than it is right now. Posture all you want the next couple of days before his next start about signing him long term if you have to…. but he better be a Brewer or a Ray or a Dodger by Wednesday morning.

If he is traded to the Rays before the All-Star break, he would be pitching against the Indians at Progressive Field in the last series before the ASG.
Even if there was a possble trade with TB that made sense for Shapiro, I don’t think this scenario is going to happen.
All in all, a trade is more likely to be announced after the All-Star break.

I think it plays more into the favor of Shapiro to rush things. All you need are two interested teams to play the bidding game. The longer you wait, the less value you receive and risk one of the trading partners falling out of contention.

So Sabathia’s scheduled to start Wednesday. Getting a deal done before that start definitely makes the most sense. My question is this:
Where do you look for frequent updates or any hint of information about what the FO might be doing? Or are we forced to sit around and wait and then analyze it after the dust settles.
Waiting is the hardest part.
