Stachel Paige?
The batter swings and the summer flies...

I didn’t know the answer so looked it up. Satchel Paige is not right. I won’t cheat and say who it was though. It’s not easy, by the way.

No. But Newcombe is the only player to win MVP, Cy Young, and Rookie of the Year.

No. Cy and MVP, yes. I think Newk was the first Cy Young winner.

I looked it up, too, so I won’t say. He also homered in his first at-bat.

Yeah, this is an obscure one. He also played for the Brooklyn Dodgers (like Robinson) and made his debut at Ebbets Field against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
I tried to make Paul Reuschel my Avatar, but he didn't fit into the box.

I believe it’s someone from the 1800’s, or very early in the 1900’s.

The answer is Dan Bankhead, who debuted for the Brooklyn Dodgers on August 26, 1947.
