Evan Longoria Annoying Grady Sizemore

Have to like Longoria's unbridled joy but also have to like Grady looking a bit peeved.

I’m not a huge fan of the HR Derby, but you do have to love how these show-off competitions bring out the kid in these young men.

As an aside, Boog Powell was on XM this morning talking about a Derby he was in Japan against Oh back in the day where the rules were “most homers in 2 minutes.” That would be kind of fun to see, although I suspect Hamilton would have needed a different pitcher.

Grady seems to have little but kid in him. That’s why he’s so fun to watch, he almost never takes himself seriously, except on the field, and even then he seems to have more fun then most. I meant the self-involved blowhards like Teixeira. Or Milton Bradley.

There’s no question there are times that Grady is having fun. But there are also moments where he’s thinking, please stop punching me in the shoulder, Evan Longoria.

There’s also not much question IMO that Longoria is being a little more bubbly because he’s mic’d.
