That’s the first I’ve heard that the PTBNL may change depending on CC and the Brewers’ performance. Where’d that come form?

me too – which does happen in PTBNL’s from time to time, right – where the list to pick from changes.

Eh, I’ve heard it off-the-record from a couple people. Nothing specific though.

I’ve seen it various places online, but not from anybody likely to know what they’re talking about.

That was pure speculation. Still, it does add to the intrigue.
So, if the Brewers ride CC to the World Series we get Gamel, right?

From Castroturf’s blog, shortly after the trade:
The Indians have until the end of the Minor League season to make a call. And no, before you ask, Sabathia’s performance for the Brewers has no bearing on who the player will be. The Indians are choosing from a list of two, predetermined candidates.

Well, I’ve heard that it does from a couple players, so who knows.

I’ll just add here, from Klaw’s current (still ongoing) chat:
Bart (Cleveland): Keith, have you heard anything concrete on the PTBNL in the Sabathia deal. Any speculation if not? Thanks.SportsNation Keith Law: (2:36 PM ET ) Taylor Green, most likely.
now, he doesn’t say whether his answer is to the first question, about “anything concrete” or the second, just speculation.
You know Selig? Ombudsman.
