Marte in the lineup and batting 7th. Did he bat that high last night? Is that his highest slot of the year?
he’s hit 7th before. not too long ago.

Haha still doesn’t cease to amaze me though. Have we had this happen since the time in Oakland earlier this year where they started showing terrible graphics?

The game was originally scheduled to be on FOX; that’s why it started at 12:55 in Seattle. When Seattle and Cleveland tanked, FOX dumped the game.
If I could, I would take a dump on Fox.

Followed by them showing his cuecards. Reminded me of when they spoiled Ian Johnson’s surprise at the Fiesta Bowl.

2b breaking for second base (Grady running) and it put him in position to field a single hit up the middle. He was able to tag Grady.
Somehow “J. Carroll grounded into a fielder’s choice to second” just didn’t capture that.

Has there ever been some sort of underground national movement to boycott Fox? I ask this not for baseball reasons, but purely out of a disbelief on the stuff FoxNews produces and the fact that sane people continue to watch their other programming.

by supermarioelia on Jul 19, 2008 4:34 PM EDT up reply actions
Yeah it’s definitely a party there. I’ve never been able to get tickets since you either have to have season tickets or know a guy with season tickets. It’s pretty much the closest thing to European/South American soccer in North America. If you wait long enough you’ll see a guy taking a corner kick get plastered with streamers.

Uhh. I don’t know what I mean. I guess other NA cities? I imagine the answer to the Canadian quesiton is because it’s more cosmopolitan, right?
Pretty much. It’s funny, we took our relatives from Italy down to Toronto a couple weekends ago, and they quickly realized that when you eavesdrop of the conversations of others, NO ONE speaks English. It’s pretty hilarious. They basically stay in Toronto because they have some distant relative or some distant family friend who lives in the city, or they’re from a country which has a decent-sized community in Toronto. Which is pretty much every country in the world. When the soccer u-20 championships were in Toronto last summer, every participating country filled half the stadium with its local countrymen.
You see the streamers there?

Oh yeah and one more bit of unasked for advice. If you’re smart you’ll quickly realize that books and profs don’t teach medicine – patients do. Pay close attention to what the patients reveal to you when you’re in the clinics. This is where you’re gonna begin to learn medicine.

Hey, Chuck. And maybe Mario. I have this ongoing debate with my friend:
He wants to order an off brand, foreign made, version of proscar (finasteride) from an online, Indian pharmacy, quarter it, and take it to prevent hair loss. He says the risk is minimal at the most.
I think he might be insane. Thoughts?
Haha this sounds a lot like the Seinfeld with George and the Chinese bald cure. But I’ll defer to the experienced Chuck for a ruling here.

You think he could kill himself? Wow. I hadn’t considered that. I think his primary concern is the exorbinant cost of propecia.
Maybe not kill himself – although anything is possible. It’s just so unnecessary – like most medicine in the USA.

The only proven therapy to ensure a full head of hair late in life is the adolescent bi-lateral orchiectomy. Have ‘em give that a try.
