boooo – it took the “s away from around range and outfield tags.
Should be “range” and “outfield”
Dear Mr. Sabean, I hear you have a reputation of being stupid. Want to deal Lincecum or Cain? You can pick THREE of these 4 players for either: Borowski, Dellucci, Blake, Byrd.

Not sure what part could be confusing. It’s a rather visual look at it, if you ask me.

I think it may mean that Dellucci sucks and that if the game doesn’t really matter the team may have been just as well served to let Gutz bat in the 8th instead of pinch hitting for him as he was just as likely to make contact and if he actually did push in a run than the team would have better served with him in the outfield defensively in the 9th, among other things. Breath.

Uh, a rather visual look at what? Range on a long fly ball or a line-drive? A single game or the season? Is it averaged? What kind of average?

It’s a joke.
And it’s pretty funny. Imagining DD going “Play it safe. That’s in the play it safe zone.”

Poor Dellucci … with Casey now gone, all the Blake haters are going to intensify their ire towards him.

I didn’t hate Blake, but I will see if I can step it up for the Dellouche…

I did not hate Casey Blake as much as I disliked the fact that he was blocking Marte. Let’s not forget that for the first two months of this year that Blake was not only a butcher in the field but couldn’t hit his way out of a paper bag without RISP – and, yet, he was run out there virtually every day while Marte played dominoes.
Dellucci on the other hand, has had a short burst of productivity sandwiched by periods of sustained awfulness.

I dislike Casey Blake, and now that he’s gone, I feel no intensified animosity toward Dellucci. I’m sort of puzzled as to why he plays so much, but he is lefthanded.

and if Looch wasn’t here, Blake may have played some in the OF, and blocked Marte less.

The Indians had many, many opportunities to play Marte by moving Blake to other positions, and they gave those PA instead to Aubrey, Francisco and Tyner, while continuing to play Garko and Gutierrez through week after week of struggle. I see no reason to think that Dellucci’s absence would have changed Wedge’s de facto “anybody but Marte” lineups.

Luckily, there will always be the FIRE WEDGE contingent, so even if Sowers’ decent start streak ends next time out, Dellucci is traded for a corned beef sandwich and some pocket lint, Garko goes to Buffalo and Byrd flies the coop, there will still be someone hating someone somewhere. The sad thing is, if Gutierrez could hit like Dellucci, it would be an improvement.

Obviously, I meant if Sowers streak doesn’t end. If New New Sowers reverts to New Sowers, the FIRE SOWERS bandwagon will get rolling again.
