Beards and Johnsons
The Dodgers lost to the Giants 7-6 on Monday night. In the bottom of the 8th, Blake argued a 3rd strike call on a checked swing and both he and Torre were tossed from the game. Blake in 4-10 so far for the Dodgers.
In other Dodger news, Jason Johnson has given up 2 runs in 2 games and 7 innings, so Tuesday night he gets this first start with the Dodgers. I did not realize that he had an 11-5 record with Las Vegas with a 3.82 ERA and was named to the PCL All-Star team.

Yeah, Johnson was a complete train wreck when he was here. watching him pitch was torture. He didn’t have much left in the tank in early 2006, and i doubt he’s got a lot now.
Besides we have John Halama tearing it up in AAA. That’s almost exactly the same thing.

Boys, boys, sarcasm is a beautiful thing. Give your heads a shake, it’s Jason Johnson for crying out loud.

this picture makes me realize that without intending to, I’ve grown an almost exact replica of blake’s beard

Replica? Why not go for the authentic?

my girlfriend got weirded out by my habit of following around the Indians, collecting scraps of hair around the players’ parking lot, and putting it into a bag labeled “Blake’s facial hair”...so I grew my own
I think now that he’s gone, Casey is instantly my favorite non-Indian. I’m going to start claiming that I always liked him.
Burn on, big river, burn on...
Casey not only has grit. He’s got political savvy. Doing this in a game against the Giants will make him an instant fan favorite in Chavez Ravine.
