PTBNL revealed?
According to http://39ontheline.blogspot.com/, a blogger who claims to have both Taylor Green and Michael Brantley as "clients" (and whom MLBTR identified as Joshua Kusnick of Double Diamond Sports Management) writes the following:
"It is just the way the business is. Things are influx until they are final, everything is static, everything can fall apart at any time. As things stand right now it is my understanding that the Indians have two deadlines in which to select one of two players (Michael Brantley and Taylor Green)."
If this is in fact correct then the PTBNL are named above.
As a side note, after reading the Sabathia related blogs on his site, the young Kusnick seems, uhm, very spirited.

“No matter how you cut it this is a bottom lines business that transcends the childhood love of the game. It’s sad but it’s true.” There are just so many amusing things about this line.

Slice me a half pound of that bologna, would you?
Why two deadlines? I can’t figure that out.

Perhaps something like this: Brantley has a medical evaluation on Date 1. If he gets a clean bill of health, the Indians must decide immediately. If not, then they have until Date 2 to make their choice.

Okay, but what if Brantley doesn’t get a clean bill of health on date one. Doesn’t that effectively eliminate the second deadline?

He only (reportedly) has a sprained ankle. The way this works in my head is that the Indians’ doctor-maybe the Brewers’ doc as well-looks at him on Date 1, and if he meets some agreed-upon criteria for recovery, he goes in the trade. If he’s below that threshold, the Tribe has until Date 2 (presumably the end of the Huntsville season) to decide whether they want to risk taking him, injured ankle and all, or take the fallback guy (Green). Shapiro said repeatedly that this player is a key part of the deal, and supposing he was thinking of Brantley when he said that, he’ll want to be very sure that there’s a real, lingering medical problem with him before giving up and taking Green.
Although it should be said that taking the Plan B guy is sometimes better in the long run. Recall that Sizemore was in the Colon deal only because Shapiro couldn’t talk Montreal into including Brad Wilkerson.

I guess that makes sense, though wouldn’t Green be choice number-one?

Some think yes, some think no. It’s all speculation. I think the circumstances suggest that Brantley is the guy; Jay (in another thread) has also said he thinks it may be Brantley, laying out some sterling credentials for him; and Castrovince seems to agree. Other observers think it’s Green. Only time will tell, and frankly we may never be certain.

This guy has also been very wrong. Is there any reason that a player or his agent would know they are on a PTBNL list? If he is right, its because he has been reading the same rumors from other sources as the rest of us.

That doesn’t make any sense right? Does he mean nothing is static?

That blog is the gift that keeps on giving. I can’t decide which is the most idiotic statement. Is it this:
Well, as predicted last night has bleed into today. When it bleeds it pours. It’s the reddest of seas and it is really bothersome. Just once can’t a day be easy???? If it was easy everyone would do it. The hard parts tend to be the best but they are still bothersome none the less.
Or this:
I do everything everyday and it takes its toll.
or this:
Being in Daytona also reminds me of one thought I have always had. Everyone considers Dale Earnhardt to be one of the greatest DRIVERS of all time. Thats always bothered me. How can you die DRIVING and be considered a great DRIVER?

Yes, I believe Wyatt Toregas to be capable of such a performance. As for LaPorta, I expect him to add an unassisted TP. Plus both a hold and a save. By the ninth inning, LaPorta should be playing all nine positions, Bugs Bunny style.

I think if the choice is Brantley it is less likley a concern about the ankle and more concern about a shoulder injury he sustained last year. That being said injuries maybe a huge concern I wonder if we should just go for T.Green and hope T. Crowe pans out. just my two cents

Brantley went 2-2 with a run in the Southern League All-Star Game.
He's extremely quick and good.

Just a heads up, I’ll have an interview with Taylor Green posted to BCB some time tomorrow. I’ll FanShot it over here for your viewing pleasure.

Just found this page
I was just emailed this link today and thought I might make a post here. I got to read this thread and the mild thoughts of my spirited blog. I cant believe anyone even reads the blog but for anyone taking the interest thanks. It really isnt supposed to be sports centric but just an overall venting/sharing station for me. For whatever it’s worth I am pretty accessible so if anyone has any questions about Green and Brantley feel free to drop me a line. So to anyone who has read my “spirited” blog, even those of you mocking it or hating it, thanks for making me a bit more relevant.

Thanks for stopping by, Joshua.
So there is this thing now called “Google,” and when players get mentioned in trade rumors, rabid fans Google the hell out of their names and everything else remotely related to a possible trade. It was inevitable that your blog would get read once your clients’ names popped up in connection with a major trade.
I think most folks here feel pretty good about the rumored PTBNL choices, and in particular about the guys you represent. Seems like it’s at least 50/50 that you’re about to be representing a top Indians prospect, so maybe we can talk more when and if that goes down.

Does knowing that people may read your blog change how you plan on sharing information now? I ask this because some of the information you share may be too “inside-info” if you know what I mean. As a fan, I love reading stuff that I otherwise would never have access to, but I really wonder whether it’s in the best interests of your clients long-term to be that open about your emotions.

I dont think I have given away anything too substantial on my site. with regards to inside info. I do not think Ill ever give a play by play type of posting ever again. It was a unique opportunity to get my clients name out there and I think that it worked. As far as letting out stuff on what I’m thinking, well , it is what it is. The guys all know me and how I am and the people I deal with know what they’re getting when they deal with me so I cant see myself changing that aspect of it all that much. Like I said take it for what it is. If nothing else it’s good for marketing.
All in all I lift cement

You represent a bunch of future major leaguers. The least of your worries should be your blog at this point.
Also! I’m interested in your input on this, which of the prospects do you think we should go after?

The blog is the very very very least of my worries. It’s not like Im coming on a message board asking for career advice, Im just gauging the reaction on what I am doing on the site. Everyone lately seems to have an opinion on what Im doing and a great deal of people seem to think I should stop. Who knows, I write for myself, and its something to do when im stuck in a hotel room on the road. I really do like writing it.
As for the the players, Taylor and Michael are both special players and both will have long careers barring something unforseen.
