Imaginary FO Conversation
Intern answers Colletti’s call
Intern: “Marc, remember when Colletti called the other day asking about Casey Blake?”
Shapiro: “Of course I do, I told you to tell him that we would take either Meloan or Santana”.
Intern: “Well, I have some good news and I have some bad news."
Shapiro: "Whats the bad news?"
Intern: "The bad news is that I mistakenly said Meloan and Santana"
Shapiro: "That is bad, was he angry?"
Intern: "Well, actually no".
Shapiro: "Whats the good news?"
Intern: "He said yes"

This exact kind of conversation was talked about on ESPNNews yesterday during the trade deadline thing.
I guess this actually happened: 1-When the Red Sox traded Heathcliff Slocumb and 2-In some big deal where Terry Ryan ended up getting one less player than he thought he would.
The #2 big deal was the four-team trade in which Nomar went to the Cubs and Boston ended up with O-Cab. Apparently it was so complicated and last-minute that there was a misunderstanding over how many prospects the Twins were getting back.

Of course they do, but a detail can get left out in the mad rush at the deadline.
