Stevens Blows US Lead vs South Korea
"The Americans had seemed poised for a comeback victory after Matthew Brown hit a go-ahead two-run single with two outs in the top of the ninth, but South Korea rallied against closer Jeff Stevens in the bottom half. "
Too bad for Indians RP Stevens that the Olympics necessarily fall in an even year.

The 10 events (out of 34) that NBC will cover remotely are archery, badminton, baseball, equestrian, fencing, handball, shooting, soccer, softball and tennis. Some basketball games also will be called off monitors in New York.
Chris Collinsworth??

He’s obviously there to cover Brett Favre, should he happen to show up.

I said this in the other thread where Collinsworth came up, but NBC loves having an ex-Bengal, ex-radio guy as an Olympic jack of all trades. First it was Bob Trumpy. Collinsworth replaced Trumpy on WLW, then replaced Trumpy at the Olympics. I guess Andy Furman would be next in line, had Furball not gotten himself fired.
Hello everyone,
I seen the replay of the 9th inning on MSNBC – while Stevens pitch that well, the announcers also mentioned that the 3B should have been guarding the line and was likely out of position. If he had been on the line, that’s very likely an out.
Not that that means Stevens would have saved it, but certainly, the double was not a good way to start that inning.
It’s nice to see though that LaPorta and USA crushed the Netherlands 7-0. Now we get to face Cuba (let’s hope for a repeat of the 2000 Gold Medal Game). :-)
Just my 2 cents.
The "cream of the crop" doesn't always rise to the top.
