TJ Burton gets no love?

I see…can’t bring in Burton without opening ourselves up to a little Stubby Clapp, huh?

by APV on Aug 15, 2008 10:02 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

He played in Buffalo briefly last year, didn’t he?

by mrich on Aug 15, 2008 10:02 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I think Stubby Clapp plays all across the minors. Lots of 10-day “contracts” with the Clapp.

OK I thought I clicked on fencing and I got wrestling instead? interesting.

I am really excited to see Weglarz!. More so even than LaPorta.

Starting lineups

Only changes for us is that Stubby is leading off instead of batting 2nd, Adam Stern finally goes to the 9-hole where he belongs, and Garcia gets moved from 9 to 2.

Well Stubby of course was a late-blooming career minor leaguer who had a cup of coffee with the Cardinals. Currently a hitting coach with the Astros single-A affiliate. Hasn’t played pro baseball since 2006.

Garcia is a scrub shortstop in the Mets system.

And Saunders is a highly-touted AAA-prospect with the Mariners. Hit a homer against the Cubans.

The odds are pretty good that the winner of this game will advance to the medal round, while the loser will stay home. Both teams still have very tough matchups against Japan ahead, so they may need to win their other three games to advance.

Purple Row is the SBN Rockies blog.

I did about two seconds of research to determine that both the A’s and Rockies have a couple significant prospects on the team. For all I know there are another 2-3 teams that could say the same.
