Someone tell me why baseball and softball are getting kicked out of the Olympics yet trampoline is allowed. Trampoline?? That’s not a sport, that’s something you do in your backyard.
I was watching it this afternoon and the announcer mentioned that a certain girl was “the most decorated modern trampolinist.” Modern trampolinist?! As opposed to, you know, all those ancient trampolinists?

Wedge: [letting go of Casey's hand] I'll never let go, Casey. I promise.
He took like 5 minutes.

Yeah, isn’t that, like, the biggest event of the Olympics (outside of Phelps)?

here’s what i’m saying: contracts like gary matthews contracts should cripple franchises. if you are that dumb you should not be able to spend your way out of it.

Yeah, the entire Angels outfield is way overpaid considering their production (outside of Vlad, and he’s not as great as he used to be) — Vlad, Garrett Anderson, Torii Hunter, and Gary Matthews Jr.

Total $51.5 million for those four — 14.5, 12, 16, and 9, respectively.

Jeremy Sowers
Anthony Reyes
Zach Jackson

mediocrity out of that trio would be a pleasant surprise

I’ll be at the Sowers game.
Jeremy Sowers v. The Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim. Yup.
No big deal. If things go south early, we can always cue up “Sweet Georgia Brown” and go to the bullpen in, like, the third inning.
Hoo boy. Maybe we should just get there early and sit at the bar.

I’ve come to a new mindset on Marte, this CAN’T be a good sample size. He may be a bust, but he can’t be THIS bad, can he? Is it even possible?

Can anyone suggest a creative way for the Indians to blow this one?
LeCavs!
If you were good enough, maybe we'd name it after you.
Well, we’re still behind. If we never catch up, we can’t blow it.

Win expectancy had us favored even after the K, so not scoring and going on to lose would definitely count as blowing it.
LeCavs!
If you were good enough, maybe we'd name it after you.
Fair enough. Win expectancy doesn’t know our bullpen.

Right. Creative would be a triple play here.

by Denver Tribe Fan on Aug 16, 2008 6:12 PM EDT up reply actions
creative way is a GB to Teixera, tags 3rd for the 1st out, gets the runner going home, then gets one of the guys on base hung up between two bags for an unorthodox triple play
That would’ve been especially creative since Teixera’s playing 1st today.

It has now come to my attention that Andy Marte will not be the starting third baseman for this team next year.
We all know who’s going to be our starting 3B next year. He has a lot of grit, a beard, and currently wears Dodger blue.

Betancourt. Fabulous.
Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.
40 games x 1.5 AB/game (before being pinch hit for) isn’t much chance. I’m not even a huge Marte believer. I just want to see what he can do. We’ll never know.
