Judging by the rain outside my window, it looks like we’re going to get off to a late start here in Cleveland

no rain here, but sounds like we’re delayed.

Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.

well this weather isn’t going to make Ichiro like Cleveland any better.

LETS.

GO.

TRIBE.

If you need me, I'll be senselessly rooting for Sizemore 40/40 for the remainder of 2008.

Hodges and Laporta go back to back. Scott Lewis is awesome. Carlos Rivero doesn’t like not being the best Carlos in Kinston.

by APV on Aug 29, 2008 7:51 PM EDT reply actions

This Carlos Rivero thing is positively enthralling.

Scott Lewis really was good all these years. Huh.

Oh I saw it. I saw it.

I wonder what kind of pitch limit he’s going to be on next year, if any. If he’s cut loose he’s got to be right there with Laff, Sowers, Reyes, and Jax right? Assuming a Reyes re-sign.

by afh4 on Aug 29, 2008 8:22 PM EDT up reply actions

Reyes won’t need resigned. It’s just that he’s out of options. But if continues this, ugly BB/K rate aside, I think they’ll give him the inside track on a spot for next year.

by xrickx on Aug 29, 2008 8:28 PM EDT up reply actions

I have no idea what sort of thoughts/plans the FO has for Lewis. When you look at his numbers, it seems as if he is one of the most under-the-radar pitching prospects in the game. He seemed to be tagged very early with “stuff won’t cut it” and “injury problems/history” labels…but now he’s doing what he’s always done against guys as close to the bigs as you can get.

STO throw out a probable start time?

Vic batting in the 5 slot at 1B.

Gives me chills to see him back in the lineup.

watching the game here in seattle on fox sports nw and the field microphone was picking up the umpire – who seemed rather upset with shoppach – barking about ‘setting up outside’ and other things i couldn’t quite make out. seemed very odd. but interesting.

oh, and sowers is very hittable.

by macasson on Aug 29, 2008 8:52 PM EDT reply actions

sowers is hitting targets and getting them called balls. shoppach is probably complaining, and the umpire is probably telling him he’s setting up off the plate. which makes no sense, considering there’s less than 2 strikes.

16 innings, 10 hits, 2ER, 3BB, 26K

I didn’t do the math, but just eyeballing those numbers, I think that Sipp’s xFIP is somewhere around -10.382.

That’s right, Sipp comes in and they take runs OFF the board.
