That commercial with drunk drivers who are surrounded by alcohol in their cars is disgusting. Especially the motorcyclists with beer in his helmet.
Driving while drowning. Not OK.

No love for Grady? Or is it just that we expect him to get XBH to lead off games?

There are small advantages to having to watch on Game Cast.

You get to play Whiffle Ball with Cliff Lee this year, not Grady.
Some 8 year old is going to get his ass up around his shoulders.
Hamilton saying Choo confirmed that unless something changes he’ll have to return to Korea to serve.

Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.

How close was the play at the plate? Was it crazy to send him with two outs?

Thanks. Just want to know how much to hate Skinner, today.

I was at the game today. It was a pretty close play. Shoppach got a horrible jump on a ball hit with 2 outs, or he’d have been safe.

I was beginning to fear that we’d never see each other again…

WTF!? I went away and expected to return with us up by a few. We aren’t really going to lose a series to the Ms after a 10 game winning streak, are we?

The catch was just okay, but it was amazing to watch. Gutz was going toward the rail and was trying to stop himself while leaning over the rail at the same time. He catches the ball, loses balance and falls over the rail. Impressive, but what was better was Asdrubal, seeing what is happening, grabs on to Gutz’ ankles, trying to hold him up. Finally, Asdrubal gives up as Gutz falls over the rail into the stands. Great play to see.

“The Indians have not had a walk-off home run this year at Progressive field”
It would be hard to have a walk-off home run on the road, wouldn’t it?
ugh. Choo just delayed the inevitable.
Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.
I predict that Roberto Hernandez comes back to strike out the side in the 10th, and then Mike Rouse hits a pinch hit walk off HR.

Undoubtedly. He get’s on base at a strong clip. The only guy with a higher OBP is Grady. Granted, Choo only has 225ABs. And he’s hitting for power. And he plays great defense. And he plays the strong side of a platoon.
I hate Rauel Ibanez
If you need me, I'll be senselessly rooting for Sizemore 40/40 for the remainder of 2008.
Yeah, he sucks. His brother Raul is pretty good though.

Can someone tell me what just happened? Beltre got drilled?
If you need me, I'll be senselessly rooting for Sizemore 40/40 for the remainder of 2008.
He was arguing that it should have been called interference by the runner, resulting in a double play.

Was it a DP ball?
If you need me, I'll be senselessly rooting for Sizemore 40/40 for the remainder of 2008.
Hammy and Hegan are convinced it would have been, had it not hit the runner. I didn’t see it, obviously.
by Logodaedalus on Aug 30, 2008 6:57 PM EDT up reply actions
It was a DP ball. Beltre slowed up in the basepath to get hit by the ball and prevent the double play that would have occurred. It was an easy DP ball. A smart play and a good risk to take by Beltre.

Well he can’t be good every day. It will be telling to see if he can bounce back from this.

I’m not sure after two months off that Victor is the best choice for a pinch-hitting appearance. But I never doubt Vic. Summoning Kirk Gibson.
I tend to agree… Their best shot is a homer here, which Victor hasn’t provided this year. Garko, on the other hand, has been known to flash some power now and then. Then again, he might be more likely to just get on and give BLC a chance.

No. He had a low ERA over 23 innings, in which he gave up more hits than innings pitched and sported a 9/12 BB/K ratio. He was lucky at one point for 23 innings during the course of a season that included 40.2 other innings in which he sported an ERA over 5.
Eh. I’m in the Giants market, granted his numbers were terrible here, but I go to their games quite a bit just because its close, he looked pretty solid from time to time. Then terrible other times.
I don’t doubt he had decent games here and there, but the guy threw 140 innings in a Giants uniform, gave up 170 hits, with an ERA near 5.50 and a 65BB/100K ratio, approximately.
He’s kind of like Tom Mastny over just under twice the innings—-there were bright spots (I think I remember 5 saves at the end of the 2006 season and a playoff appearance in 2007), but other than that, the opposition had his number.
I was at the game. It was thrilling and sucky.
Random thoughts:
1. I think Marte may really suck.
2. Choooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
3. Is Reyes for real? Maybe.
