probably not, but it sure looked like Sal was giving Choo an english lesson in the dugout.

Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.

Just stopped by to say …. CHOOOOOO!!!

He needs to have a starting job next year.

I’m fully prepared to witness the first ever quadruple play in baseball history right now

Marte has an eight-game hitting streak over which he is hitting .346/.346/.500 (plus whatever he did today).

by Voltaire on Aug 31, 2008 3:49 PM EDT reply actions

so, 6-4, that’s better

by Voltaire on Aug 31, 2008 3:50 PM EDT reply actions

I wonder if Putz is available…

by Logodaedalus on Aug 31, 2008 3:51 PM EDT up reply actions

I’d like to see Seattle acquire reliever Fabio Castro, so they can have Castro take over from Batista late in games…

by Logodaedalus on Aug 31, 2008 3:53 PM EDT reply actions

Wouldn’t he need some guy named Guevara to be the set up man?

Bases loaded on walks — too bad Vic forgot who was pitching!

I think it would have. Oh well.

by palcal on Aug 31, 2008 4:14 PM EDT reply actions

that was…unfortunate

We really know how to end a 10 game winning streak in style.

"Lotta heart in Cleveland." - Ian Hunter

by Denver Tribe Fan on Aug 31, 2008 4:17 PM EDT reply actions

I think the team got mad with all the people talking about playoff possibilities after the streak, and decided to teach them a lesson.

by Logodaedalus on Aug 31, 2008 4:24 PM EDT up reply actions

Okay performance by CC today.

by SuddenSam on Aug 31, 2008 4:37 PM EDT reply actions

Did you catch the bit about how it should have been a no-hitter?

BCB's "very own marginally deserving all-star!"

by battlekow on Aug 31, 2008 5:05 PM EDT up reply actions

I guess Milwaukee’s filing an appeal to get the hit turned into an error

by APV on Aug 31, 2008 5:15 PM EDT up reply actions

The league office shouldn’t be able to award a no-hitter after the fact. A number of no-hitters have been tainted by scorers changing a decision as the game progressed, but I’m not aware of an ex post facto no-hitter. For one thing, CC never had to take the mound in the 9th inning with a no-hitter on the line. This is a critical component of the feat.

by SuddenSam on Aug 31, 2008 5:21 PM EDT up reply actions

I agree. But I still want to see the play in question.

Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.

by westbrook on Aug 31, 2008 6:22 PM EDT up reply actions

You can watch it on MLB.com. To me, there’s no way you can call that an error.

by Voltaire on Aug 31, 2008 6:25 PM EDT up reply actions

Probably should have been ruled an error, nothing too challenging about the play, CC took his eye off the ball

by Roger Dorn on Aug 31, 2008 7:31 PM EDT up reply actions

I think if he picked up the ball cleanly and threw a strike to first base he could have had the out. It would have been a tough play, but definitely doable. Seems like one of those judgement, on-the-field error calls…which would be pretty sketchy to overturn after the fact.

by APV on Aug 31, 2008 10:36 PM EDT up reply actions

ERROR. But it was on CC, so that makes it hard to overturn.

Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.

Don’t it always seem to go…….

by SuddenSam on Aug 31, 2008 7:38 PM EDT up reply actions

we really could have used these three wins huh

by Gradyforpresident on Aug 31, 2008 6:48 PM EDT reply actions

Going to see three games this weekend and I am 0-2 so far. To the MARINERS for crissakes.

What in the name of God was Victor doing swinging at pitches 1 and 2 from a guy who just walked the last two batters straight? That was probably the least of our problems today, but it was definitely one of the most glaring.

I sure hope the offense brings their A game tomorrow. I really wanna see #20. Especially after these last two cock-ups.

If we were in the NL West, we’d be right in the thick of things.

by Roger Dorn on Aug 31, 2008 7:30 PM EDT reply actions

But, we’d have Casey Blake and no Carlos Santana. I’m really torn here.
