So what’s everyone’s guess as to how long the Indians will stay at Jacobs/Progressive Field?
I’d guess through 2074 (with an extensive renovation around 2040)

A part of me wants to say one of the suburbs will find a way to woo them away in my lifetime. But with the ever escalating prices of everything, it’s hard to imagine one of the communities footing the bill.

Just the realistic side, that has seen it happen with other teams in other markets.

Yeah like the Cavs?
In baseball, outside of the A’s pending move to Fremont who else has recently fled the city? The current trend I’m seeing is to move towards the city as the Marlins are doing. Other new parks are typically being built very close to their respective old stadium, which for the most part, is in the city.

Which would essentially move the team. I think it’s a separate market altogether.

Fremont is actually 10 miles closer to San Francisco than San Jose is, but it is in the same county as Oakland, so the Giants cannot stop that move.
The Giants territorial rights were expanded to include San Jose in 1990 at a time when they themselves were trying to move to San Jose.
So, at a meeting in Cleveland on June 14, 1990, baseball owners voted unanimously to expand the definition of the ``city’’ of San Francisco to include San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
Although the Giants finally got a new home in San Francisco after the move to San Jose fell through, they will continue to assert their rights to Santa Clara county to keep the A’s from luring away too much of Silicon Valley wealth and corporate sponsorship. Meanwhile, the A’s are trying to move as close as possible to the Santa Clara county line as possible.
