Scout the Tribe defense
Tom Tango, author of The Book, has run a study for the past few years that measures defensive ability by aggregating the opinions of fans who watch a particular team and has opened up the balloting for this year's teams.
"What I would like to do now is tap that pool of talent. I want you to tell me what your eyes see. I want you to tell me how good or bad a fielder is. Go down, and start selecting the team(s) that you watch all the time. For any player that you've seen play in at least 10 games in 2008, I want you to judge his performance in 7 specific fielding categories.
Try to judge "average" not as an average player at that position, but an average player at any position. If you think that Willie Bloomquist has an average arm, then mark him as average, regardless if you've seen him play 2B, SS, 3B, LF, or CF.
DO NOT CONSIDER THE POSITION THE PLAYER PLAYS!"

I have watched numerous AL Central position players play more than 10 games this year, and can say, without doubt, that I am as unqualified to grade any of them on defensive ability off the top of my head as any crank calling in to sportstalk radio.

I filled out about half of this.
Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.
