I love when Zach Jacksonn pitches, because it means Cliff Lee pitches next.

I don’t think it really deserves a fanshot .. but interesting, nonetheless.
Lee, who turns 22 on October 21, hails from Taiwan and is one of the top amateur college prospects from the island nation. He was a member of the 2008 Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) Olympic Team that competed in Beijing, China and recorded an ERA of 2.00 in 2 Olympic outings (9.0IP, 6H, 2R/ER, 2BB, 11K). His best outing of the Olympics came against the Cuban national team, tossing 6.2 innings in a starting role (3H, 1R/ER, 7K). He also appeared in relief vs. the United States (2.1IP, 3H, 1R/ER, 0BB, 4K). Lee was one of just 3 amateurs on the Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) Olympic Team.
Wow, that’s only marginally taller than Jamey Carroll!

Oh, actually Jamey Carroll is 5’9", according to the official site. I had 5’6" in my head for some reason.

one of them is our 3B.

I will say that it is infinitely more likely that Jamey Carroll starts the year as the starting 3B than Peralta.
technically, infinity is the limit as x goes to 0 of 1/x

Agreed on Peralta staying at short. I figure all the posters who want to trade Peralta are the same posters who wanted to trade Lee.
I definitely don’t want to trade him.

What if we could get Rios?, or Sherril? or Hamilton?
To me it all depends on the player we get.

So disregard your previous transmission, right? You definitely do want to trade him – for the right price.

In the “missed opportunities” file, Chicago is only 6-7 for September.. but Minnesota is 5-8. Even playing .500 ball would put them in first place.

I look at this year as a blessing in disguise. Those two teams will not be improving next year and our down year we were able to improve our system considerably.
By comparison, you look at Detroit and Seattle … they had just as many expectations with poor results and did nothing about it.
No kidding. I’d actually say Detroit’s year has been more disappointing than ours. I realize we made it to the ALCS last year & they missed the playoffs, but with all the trades & money they spent in the offseason and all the prognostications of 1000 runs, fourth place can’t feel too good. Especially since, unlike us, they’ve actually been pretty healthy this year.

Yeah, isn’t their payroll higher than Boston’s?

Here are my things with the buckle:
1-They don’t carry my primary brands (NBs, Nikes).
2-They present shoes so poorly. I don’t know why they insist on having those arty little pictures with two views crammed in. It’s not a good way to look at sneakers, which often have little things going on with the uppers, insteps, etc.
If I could find some place that had the full color palette for NB 574s I’d be happy but for whatever reason they seem to give every store one non-normal color combo.
