Tom Hamilton
I am sure this is a rather unusual FanPost, but here it goes. My mother is turning 70 on the Sept. 29th and I am taking here to see the Indians this weekend as part of her birthday celebration. She has been an Indians fan since 1946 (remembers listening to the games with her father). I am having her name posted on the scoreboard during the last home game on Sunday, but I would like to do a little more. I do know that she is a huge Tom Hamilton fan since the day when he teamed up with Herb Score. I was hoping to zip him an email to see if I can get her name mentioned on the radio or perhaps an autographed photo sent to her house (being realistic since meeting him would be a quite a reach). Unfortunately, after a quick search on the internet I haven't discovered a way to make this happen. Any info on how to do this (if it is possible at this late date) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.

Thanks for the help…I emailed both Mark Schwab and Anthony Castrovince. Both emailed me back saying that they contacted the Indians manager of communications and that he’d have Tom Hamilton mention my mom’s birthday on the air during the game. She will certainly enjoy that!

My only question is how will she hear Tom Hamilton on the radio when she is at the game watching her name go up on the scoreboard?

Haven’t you seen the old folks with their old Walkmen at the game?

old folds? I do this and I’m 25.
By the way… glad to see LGT has survived without me the past few weeks (wedding and honeymoon).

sure is.
Oh, and quick Indians related story on our honeymoon:
We went to Italy and in Florence, we stopped at a store that sold soccer memorabilia. I wanted an Italian national team jersey. The store had almost exclusively Italian soccer stuff, and then I saw a few MLB shirts: A Yankees shirt, a Mets sweater, and a Cleveland Indians sweatshirt! I asked the owner about it and he said that some Italian teenagers like to wear American baseball teams and Cleveland is the number 1 request besides the New York teams. He said he also had some Detroit Tigers stuff in the back.

Probably from the movie Major League? I heard the Indians are pretty recognizable in Germany because of this.

We’ll be at the last home game this Sunday for an early birthday celebration and Hamilton will be announcing her birthday on the 28th (a day before her actual birthday since the season ends then).
