Good old Cliff S. Lee

by Logodaedalus on Sep 7, 2008 2:10 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

No Marte, but at least Dellucci isn’t playing third.

by peter m on Sep 7, 2008 2:13 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   1 recs

The Royals have a player named Ryan Braun?

by Logodaedalus on Sep 7, 2008 2:14 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Sabean almost gave up Lincecum for him thinking he was getting an all-star hitter.

Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.

by westbrook on Sep 7, 2008 3:44 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Hammy: Hafner is joining the team in Baltimore … he’s doing it because I’ll be there, I just know it

by Fios on Sep 7, 2008 2:18 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Victor! Playoffs!

by ASP on Sep 7, 2008 2:23 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Wow, JP scores from first on a single

by Logodaedalus on Sep 7, 2008 2:23 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Cap’n Vic. I wasn’t listening, though…how did Jhonny score from 1st?

by APV on Sep 7, 2008 2:24 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Just got a head start on the 2 out, full count and turned it on

by Logodaedalus on Sep 7, 2008 2:25 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Great AB. Vic’s back!

by peter m on Sep 7, 2008 2:24 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Garko continues his excellent play.

by peter m on Sep 7, 2008 2:25 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Garko…ah….forget it

by APV on Sep 7, 2008 2:25 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That was a weird play

by Logodaedalus on Sep 7, 2008 2:28 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

9 pitches, 9 strikes, 3 outs for Lee in the first

by APV on Sep 7, 2008 2:30 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Underwood: “…the angle with which we sit at”

Hmm

by Logodaedalus on Sep 7, 2008 2:38 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Awww. It’s just a verbal typo!

by peter m on Sep 7, 2008 2:40 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Hehe. Resulting from trying to avoid ending a sentence with a preposition. Just shows that it’s not natural to do that.

by Logodaedalus on Sep 7, 2008 2:43 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

we’ve been having some contact issues lately

by APV on Sep 7, 2008 2:54 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Jhonny had laser surgery. He has no excuse.

by Logodaedalus on Sep 7, 2008 2:56 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Well, Garko’s been hitting the ball on the ground with consistency!

by peter m on Sep 7, 2008 2:56 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

only with men on base

by APV on Sep 7, 2008 2:59 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

on first, specifically

by Logodaedalus on Sep 7, 2008 3:00 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Three scoreless innings on 36 pitches. Cliff is at it again.

by Jeffrey R on Sep 7, 2008 3:02 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Time to DFA this Sizemore punk

by Fios on Sep 7, 2008 3:29 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Ha… I love the K on the foul bunt.

by Jeffrey R on Sep 7, 2008 3:35 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

This Phifer fellow might be a stud.

Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.

by westbrook on Sep 7, 2008 3:41 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I still think he should change the middle name to “s are best approached careful”

VMART

Runner on first, Garko should ground out here

by Fios on Sep 7, 2008 3:45 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I don’t think Shoppach remembers how to take pitches

by Logodaedalus on Sep 7, 2008 3:48 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

So who thinks Shoppach gets dealt after the season?

by cheech99 on Sep 7, 2008 3:48 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Let’s put a sign on second that says, “Buck stops here”

Here’s David “Nobody F—-s with” DeJesus

Adams showed that safety blitz entirely too soon.

by Fundamentals on Sep 7, 2008 4:27 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Wrong thread. I’ve got DBN and LGT up at the same time…

by Fundamentals on Sep 7, 2008 4:28 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

same old, shit defense. Long fall in Cleveland.

by ASP on Sep 7, 2008 4:32 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

So that’s why this thread is so dead… Didn’t even occur to me that there was football on now.

by Logodaedalus on Sep 7, 2008 4:34 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   1 recs

Try being a Redskins fan, at least the Browns are a threat to score

21 … yay Clifford

by Fios on Sep 7, 2008 5:04 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Andy Marte is free at last! Now, if only he got to bat with men on base...

21 – 2 Go Cliff

One day I'll get over to watch the Tribe play

by new zealand tribe fan on Sep 7, 2008 5:05 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

“I don’t want to say he has a reputation for being headstrong, but anytime he’s on the mound and a maple bat is in use, the bat is the second-hardest object on the field.”

From Bud Shaw. Innuendo?

You have no idea the physical toll that three vasectomies have on a person

by jakesinger777 on Sep 8, 2008 12:42 AM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Just another typical labored trope from Bud Shaw. Sports-writing of the worst sort. What if Milton Bradley is on the field, Bud?

by odradek on Sep 8, 2008 7:30 AM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Even ignoring the awesome W/L record, Cliff Lee is having the best season by a Tribe starter that I’ve seen in my lifetime (I’ve been a studious fan since ‘90). I have always been one of his bigger fans, but this is well beyond my wildest imaginations. I am shocked. This and the reemergence of Choo are the sliver lining of ’08 in my mind. Shoppach’s and Huff’s breakouts are up there too.
