This will be where most of our decision making takes place. We have Cliff Lee, Fausto Carmona and Carl Pavano. Then we have six or seven other guys for the last two spots."

Thanks, fixed. Jesus that’s embarrassing (I’m a web developer by trade…)

I’m also going to give Jhonny Peralta some reps at third base. He played there this winter and it makes sense to keep that option open.
This seems like an important quote. Seems Wedge/Shapiro aren’t opposed to a mid-season infield shift should the situation require it.

That’s what I hear and I’m surprised.

Hard to believe Pavano is already penciled in as our #3 starter, but looking at the rotation depth, I guess that’s the reality. As good as our bullpen is starting to look, the rotation scares the hell out of me. Pavano is more than likely going to suck, and if Carmona can’t find it, well… Who here thinks Anthony Reyes and Aaron Laffey are going to carry us to October?

Yeah starting pitching is in its most questionable state in years (Losing CC and Westbrook has went a long way to destablize that, Byrd too).

Me.
I also think, barring that, it was nice knowing Nick Weglarz or Beau Mills.

What if Pavano sucks big time in spring training? Are we married to this?

I believe that if he’s healthy at the end of ST, he’s in the rotation guaranteed. I think it’s in his contract. Someone please correct me if I read that wrong.
Don't be stupid. PUT IN MELOAN.

I would say we are every bit as married to Pavano and his 1.5M guarantee as we were to Aaron Fultz and his 1.5M guarantee. The difference is mainly that he’ll get all of spring training to fail completely.
