Luke Scott
I have no reason to believe this is even possible, but how do people feel about a Luke Scott for Ryan Garko switch?
Baltimore has expressed interest in Garko before, he plays 1B for them and relegates Huff to DH. Scott isn't needed in LF with the acquisition of Pie, whom they have declared will start in LF.
Luke Scott is a plus defender in LF and a better hitter than Francisco (in my opinion). I think Scott improves our lineup, but maybe I'm wrong. However, maybe this trade is better in June when LaPorta needs to play 1B.
Thoughts?

Can you point me to where Baltimore is interested in Garko?

I can point you to where Baltimore is NOT interested in Garko.

And I love the source, that schmuck reporter from Baltimore.

This year isn’t Garko more needed than we need Luke Scott? Losing Garko would leave us thin at 1b and dh short term, and with one too many outfielders.

I don’t think that is the case. Scott is probably going to outhit Garko this year and I see little reason to think that Scott can’t play first as well as him.

I don’t care if it’s likely or not, or if it happens or not. I just don’t care.

From my understanding, Garko’s name was floated by the Baltimore beat writer as an available possibility and not a baltimore target.
I’ve also read that Scott is going to be a starter at DH/1st so there’s no reason to trade him

I was going to say, we don’t have Jeriome Robertson to trade to Baltimore to get Scott back. :-)
I’m still amazed we made that trade – all of Robertson’s stats suggested he would flounder, as his peripherals were quite poor, and that was in the NL. Granted, Taveras and Scott aren’t great, but have been as capable, if not moreso, MLers than Robertson was, who faded pretty quickly during his time with us and beyond (The Baseball Cube lists him having played with New Orleans of the Pacific Coast League in 2007, posting a 5-5 record, 4.89 ERA, with 95 H/10 HR/23 BB/61 K in 81.0 IP). In fact, outside of the 8 games he appeared with the Indians in 2003, he never played in the Majors again.
Just my 2 cents.

Whoops – meant to say “with the Indians in 2004” (not 2003) – sorry!
