Lee declines WBC invitation
Having any of our pitchers participate would worry me a great deal more than having any of our position players participate. The article also notes that Sabathia and Beckett have delined as well.

I have no desire to see any of our pitchers participate either—which seems to be a consensus with most teams so far. Is the WBC going to end up a competition between Major League position players and AA/AAA pitching? There could be some real slugfests if that’s the case.

He can’t do that. He only had one soul to sell.

What, the backyard Wiffle ball game wasn’t enough to pay off the mortgage on his soul?

I think the fact that he dominated the kids so excessively probably cost him the shot on paying the mortgage.
He took him deep directly to his collar bone…

Great success. Although it kinda sorta would’ve been cool to see him in Toronto, this is for the better good.
Are you catching some games? Which ones?

Totally up in the air right now. It’s right in the middle of my surgery block, so I’ve gotta wait until the call schedule is released.
Cue Chuck telling me to stop thinking about baseball and start studying.
You have to buy the whole block of tickets too, no? I’m thinking about buying the whole block and just eating the cost on the three games or so I can’t attend.

Outside of Italy, they’re are some pretty compelling teams in that group. I doubt it will sell out in the upper reaches of the park. You can always wait and buy single game walk-up tickets the day of, right?

Not sure about the walkup tickets, but $10 tickets in the 500 level is never a bad deal to see US-Venezuela. And hell, as an Italian-Canadian who likes good baseball those are probably the four teams I would most love to see, and they’re all in the same group. Suhweet.
