By 2004, Sabathia and Lee were helping lead the Indians’ pitching staff, Willis as their pitching coach. That is how they stayed until Clevelandwouldcould no longer pay them.
Fixed.
I wish I felt as charitable as Willis.

That word (“would”) was like a knife to the gut. That was damn insulting!
If you believe it's just a game, you're also probably wondering why Santa keeps skipping your house every year.

Just to make it better – Heyman also wrote about it.
I just want this game to be over. Part of me is torn and wanting them both to be phenomenal and pitch a WS classic, the other part of me wants them both to be out by the end of the second. Either way, I’ll probably end up hitting my head against the wall.
I just wanted to believe.

I want Lee to do the first part of that and CC to be the victim of the latter.

I agree. I don’t hate either guy, but just the fact that CC is a Yankee makes me want to see him choke that much more. However, I don’t think he will because it is the stinkin’ yankees.

Will we also see these headlines when LaPorta smacks the crap out of baseballs in the 2012 World Series with Carrasco pitching shutouts?

I don’t think we’re going to trade them so soon.

Has this ever happened before?
Two consecutive Cy Young winners from the same team facing off in the World Series with 2 different teams?

According to Stark, there’s been only one World Series opener with 2 former Cy Youngs facing off, and that was Maddux v. Hershiser in 95. But that’s only openers.

Consecutive winners.
From the same team.
I’m not taking this well at all.

Both okay. But Christmas Ale is enjoyable to drink, knocks you around a little bit, and is hoarded away for all but a few months. It’s easy to build up a fondness.

i’m the same on BOS. but it might be because i still have 9 christmas ales in my fridge from last year.

This year’s batch is smoother. Less spice, a little more cinnamon. I haven’t decided which version I like better, but this year’s brew could get some people in trouble. It’s easier to drink.

Not sure the game will happen tonight. Raining fairly steady in the NY area right now.
by JulioBernazard on Oct 28, 2009 10:35 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Yea, it’s been pouring all day, but I heard it is done by this afternoon.
What I really want to happen is for this World Series to have multiple rainouts and for it to extend into mid-late November leaving egg on the face of Selig.

I’ve heard it’s supposed to clear up by 8pm though. If they played game 5 of the WS last year (or at least the first 5 innings, when it was worse in Philly than it is now) they should be able to play tonight.
*sigh*

If I didn’t hate the Yankees so much I would enjoy the pitching matchup tonight and would hope they both pitch superbly. I find it hard to hate CC but because of the uniform he now wears I hope he lasts just 2/3 of an inning and leaves 7 runs behind with runners on 2nd and 3rd. I’m rooting hard for the Phillies.

NY is littered with psychoanalysts, they probably convinced him it was all his dad’s fault and it was ok that he thought his mom looked pretty hot in spandex growing up.
