Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

B221e69ea639d1c02ca1c368c268d062

The other day, my Brother told my Dad and me that one of his teachers thinks that the Cavs will win more games than the Indians did this year. At first i thought that this was an ridiculous statement however, as i thought about it, it began to seem like a major possibility. This got me wondering how many times this has happend in history where a cities NBA team wins more games than their MLB game. I haven't done any research on it yet but i decided before i do that I would ask LGT if they knew.

I’ll bet the Indians squeak this one out.

In a way I hope your right for the sake of the Indians but I would love to see the Cavs with 65+ games again this year.

I like that from your point of view, the only way this prediction is false is is the Cavs win less than 60 games. Not the other way around, where the Indians win 75 or something.

My first hunch on this played out (check basketball teams with historically good records) — the Chicago Bulls went 72-10 in the 95-96 season after the White Sox had closed out the 95 season with a 68-76 record. However.. that’s kinda cheating, as the 1995 baseball season was only 144 games due to the strike.

My second hunch did pay off though (check baseball teams with historically bad records), as the Pistons won 54 games in 2003-04 while the Tigers managed only 43 wins (in a full 162 game season, no less).

*sigh*

And the Pistons won the title that year too, for whatever good omen that might be.

If you haven’t seen them, go watch the Nike Hyperizer ads. Kevin Durant’s album would be hot.
