Upper Deck 2009 AAA All-Star team….maybe Fleer too

Fleer went bankrupt and was bought by Upper Deck – which then lost its license. It’s Topps only in 2010 for the first time since 1980.

Donruss lost its license before Fleer went bankrupt…I think. Either way, no more baseball cards from them.

And the opposite is going to be true in 2010 for football.

It’s amazing how quickly the booming baseball card industry I remember growing up has imploded. And frankly, they’ve brought it on themselves when they raised their price dramatically.

I see a lot less Bowmans than I used to.

They flooded the market in the early 90s with mostly forgettable designs and cheap (save for Upper Deck’s early sets) cards, therefore destroying the collectability, even as more and more kids/adults were entering the market.

What is with this reply-fail epidemic here? I feel like we have more every day now than we used to have in a week. Shape up, people!
