I love that Old Sheldon makes it into their projections

by APV on Nov 16, 2009 9:20 AM EST reply actions

I giggle every time I see his name. Especially when written: Sheldon, Ole.

Who needs affection when you can have blind hatred?

Most of those projections seem to be a little low. Maybe a bit too conservative.

by JP_Frost on Nov 16, 2009 10:18 AM EST reply actions

It always seems like that.

by Jay on Nov 16, 2009 11:48 AM EST up reply actions

I noticed that also right away. I understand that Droobs and Choo may not hit as well as last year but to say they won’t hit of .285 is slightly conservative

by ClevelandCrazy29 on Nov 16, 2009 9:54 PM EST up reply actions

he means that projection systems are inherently conservative because of regression and well, accuracy.

by hans on Nov 16, 2009 10:05 PM EST up reply actions

Batting average. Get over it.

by Jay on Nov 16, 2009 10:20 PM EST up reply actions

Is that Andy Marte or Adrian Beltre?

by xrickx on Nov 16, 2009 10:27 AM EST reply actions

It’s minimum salary.

by Jay on Nov 16, 2009 11:49 AM EST up reply actions

Exactly. Now watch some team give Beltre $6-8M per annum this winter.

by xrickx on Nov 16, 2009 10:45 PM EST up reply actions

if these are accurate then hello 4th or 5th again

by johnf34 on Nov 16, 2009 12:37 PM EST reply actions

Did you look at the other clubs?

by Jay on Nov 16, 2009 8:26 PM EST up reply actions

Who the hell is Kyle Haines?

by hans on Nov 16, 2009 1:29 PM EST reply actions

Wondered that myself. Drafted by the Giants in 2004, then picked up by the Phillies via Rule 5. The Tribe signed him from the Camden RIversharks of the Atlantic League. 2B apparently.

by FredOx on Nov 16, 2009 2:24 PM EST up reply actions

why would they waste money on this bum when they could use that money to sign omar!

by Brick. on Nov 16, 2009 2:26 PM EST up reply actions

Way to go Kyle! You got out of Camden!

Want out of Cleveland? Easy - mess with LeBron's entourage.

by woodsmeister on Nov 16, 2009 2:31 PM EST up reply actions

Way too many G, AB projected for guys from Gimenez on down.

by spreidel on Nov 16, 2009 1:32 PM EST reply actions

Another projection that isn’t all that high on Asdrubal but loves Choo.

by Brad D on Nov 16, 2009 7:14 PM EST reply actions

I’d take those Hafner numbers. And Grady too.

Another long year from Peralta, though.

by odradek on Nov 16, 2009 10:14 PM EST up reply actions

All these projection systems weigh the most recent seasons more heavily. On account of that, would we expect Peralta to have inspiring numbers?

by xrickx on Nov 16, 2009 10:46 PM EST up reply actions

Hadn’t noticed before, CHONE essentially thinks Marte should start at 3B over Peralta.

by Jay on Nov 17, 2009 1:13 AM EST up reply actions

that’s just because CHONE is afraid of the H competition

by APV on Nov 17, 2009 6:58 AM EST up reply actions

CHONE projects that Marte will outhit Chone.

by FredOx on Nov 17, 2009 9:29 AM EST up reply actions

I think Marte should start at 3B over Peralta.

Wait 'til next millennium!

by emd2k3 on Nov 18, 2009 10:42 AM EST up reply actions

I suspect most of the pitching staff would like to see Marte start at 3B over Peralta.

Want out of Cleveland? Easy - mess with LeBron's entourage.
