"David DeJesus had our best zone rating," Bannister said, referring to the Royals’ left fielder. "So a lot of times, Zack would pitch for a fly ball at our park instead of a ground ball, just because the zone rating was better in our outfield and it was a big park."
Greinke FB% at home: 37.6%. On the road: 41.1%.
Well he didn’t say he did it successfully…

"That’s pretty much how I pitch, to try to keep my FIP as low as possible," Greinke said
I think the best part of this is that we’re no longer at a point where a mainstream article has to include the word “Moneyball” anywhere in the body for a subject like this.

Here’s an interesting stat about Greinke:
The 26-year-old right-hander was the sixth overall pick in the 2002 amateur draft.
I’m going to cry, I think.
It’s also interesting to see in Greinke’s own words the amount of social anxiety he still harbors even though he has worked through treatment to a point where he is having such success. I doubt he’s going to sign that big Yankee contract when the time comes … he seriously couldn’t handle it.
Wait 'til next millennium!
I think it’s entirely possible he never leaves KC. He is already locked up through 2012 at a decent rate.

But if he signs a below-market deal post 2012 will he be ostracized by the union?
Wait 'til next millennium!
He’s going to be imitated by expensive shoes and champagne, and run screaming from the terrifying New York restaurant!
And then they’ll break his elbows.
