Lovullo to manage Bostons AAA team
Can't say I blame him after being passed over twice for a promotion.

Shoot. Now he is going to tell the Red Sox to not swing at Fausto’s sinker.

So I’m assuming Albert Belle will be taking over Columbus?

In related news Luis Rivera and Sal Fasano are going to manage in Toronto’s minor league system.
Rivera takes over for the New Hampshire FisherCats (AA) and Fasano becomes a Lansing Lugnut (Low-A)
I honestly don’t know if this is a serious post or not.

Doesn’t he know he’s blocked by Farrell?

Evidently, Lovullo was also a finalist for the infield/3B job that Steve Smith got. I can see how it would be tough to be a finalist for two positions, miss out on both, and then try to stay in the organization in your old job.
That is what I was thinking with the “duh” comment above. If not now, when? It probably was kind of a crossroads for him.

I can understand the reason for him leaving, I just can’t understand his location. Francona isn’t going anywhere so why not try for an organization with less stability on their ML coaching staff.
I agree his signing with the Red Sox wasn’t the best place for him to go. I was suprised he didnt get a major league job, and ended up back in AAA. Maybe he was figuring next year there will be an opening on Francona’s staff and he could move up that way. Seems like every year one or two Red sox coaches are rumored to be the next major league manager.
Maybe he thought that coaching in a different system might give him some more experience in how other organizations do things and ultimately make him more marketable as a candidate for a major league position.

Couldn’t they just pay better? And/or be somewhere he’d rather live?
