Carl Willis goes to Seattle
He is taking over the job of minor league pitching coordinator. I don't know if this is a promotion or a demotion, but I'm surprised a guy with back to back Cy Youngs in his coaching belt is not getting hired as a major league pitching coach.

Back to back imploding bullpens, too, though. From a position of complete ignorance about the culture of baseball organizational structures, this has to be a demotion. Good luck, Carl.
And happy Thanksgiving, LGTers.

If Willis gets credit for contributing to Sabathia and Lee’s Cy Young awards, does he also not get the “credit” for Fausto’s demise and the bullpen’s performance in recent seasons? I don’t buy the argument that a guy gets credit for the success but should be excused for his inability to reach a majority of the pitchers on staff. And it’s not like we’re talking about reclamation projects.
