Cream for your morning coffee
For some reason these events seem worthy of revisiting this morning.
And while we are at it, this, this, this, and this.
And of course this, this, this and this.
And if you type this enough it begins to look misspelled.
This.

The good ol’ days. Oh how they are missed :(
Great way to start the day though.
I love the JFK quote.
“Our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s future. And we all know that the Yankees and their fans are the worst scum on the face of the Earth.”
Go Tribe!
Columbus til I die, Columbus til I die. I know I am, I swear I am, Columbus til I die!
I love this quote. I work in NYC. I have several co-workers questioning the validity of this quote. Anything to ruin their day helps…
Baseball fans are junkies, and their heroin is the statistic. - Robert S. Wieder
questioning the validity of this quote.
Further proof that they honestly believe they are all that is right and good in this world.
Douchebags.

Tribe hurlers were certainly throwing a lot of strikes that night. 12 of 14 for Assenmacher. 12 of 14 for Mike Jackson. And 61 of 97 for Orel.

I’m not sure I see the point. There are plenty of thises (this’? thisses’?) where they kicked our ass. Who cares?
Must not. I live in NY, I realized there really is no point to fight it anymore. The system is what it is; the jackasses are what they are. Whatever.
Can you, then, please elucidate your point?

Now I think I’m going down to the well tonight
and I’m going to drink till I get my fill
And I hope when I get old I don’t sit around thinking about it
but I probably will
Yeah, just sitting back trying to recapture
a little of the glory of, well time slips away
and leaves you with nothing mister but
boring stories of glory days

No one thinks this is swift karma for all the Yankees-hating shadenfreude we indulged in this year, right? Right? Right.
Karma has not even begun to catch up with the Yankees.
Want out of Cleveland? Easy - mess with LeBron's entourage.
even if it did, they’d just sign it to an eight year deal.

Quick question: anyone have an article or something of Steinbrenner saying he would be opposed to a salary cap, or media revenue sharing, or to new teams coming to the NY Metro area? Having a debate with a Yankee fan and any of these would come in handy.
LGT's resident moderate Yankee hating fan.
Steinbrenner voted against the last CBA and threatened to sue the other 29 teams over it, specifically because it added huge new amounts of luxury tax and revenue sharing.
There is absolutely no doubt that Steinbrenner would oppose a cap or more revenue sharing.
Do I have a link handy? No. Shouldn’t be too hard to find, though. 2002.

Steinbrenner hired antitrust attorney David Boies as counsel for the lawsuit he never filed. There’s some discussion in a law review note from the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment Law & Practice. A lot of the news links from 2002 are going to be dead.
