Even though I honed in on this one quote, I figured that it’s a JoPo article, and those are always worth reading. Plus, we can always use another thread to spew Yankee hatred.
If you don't respect Aaron Laffey, I will fight you.

It was an impressive effort from him this year to become my number 1 most hated Yankee in just 1 season.

“I talked to God, and God said that if I want a World Series championship, I should go to the place where I won’t have to work as hard for it.”
Finally convinced my dad that Jeter is immensely hatable.

Wonder if he wore goggles fearing that God would strike him blind for being full of it.

I think he wore the goggles because he finally figured out that CC is a Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal and he didn’t have a towel handy.
Want out of Cleveland? Easy - mess with LeBron's entourage.

I also note that JoePos does not say how much more the Yankees spent this year than the next closest team. According to Cot’s, that number is roughly $62.2 million, The Yankees come in at $206.8 million and the Mets come in next at $139.6.

Yeah, I found it odd that JoePo left that out, too.

Figure they knock ~$42mm off the books with free agents. But they’ll spend that on Lackey and Holliday. I’ll go out on a limb and say another $10-15 mm on backups, relievers, another starter and arbitration cases. Contract increases are ~$15mm more, so figure they’ll be up around the $235 mm mark for the year.
Starting to look like they’ll double the next closest team’s payroll.

In real life, the cops arrive to arrest Walter Matthau. The Yankees get to line up the Bears and throw rocks at them. And all the adults praise the Yankees, etc.
