Indians hire Ramon Pena as Latin American director
"More than 40 players signed by or under Pena have reached the Majors, including prominent closers Francisco Cordero and Fernando Rodney out of the Dominican Republic, starting pitcher Jair Jurrjens out of Curacao, utility man Omar Infante from Venezuela and outfielder Frank Catalanotto."

Someone from outside the organization.
Also…
Pena replaces Lino Diaz, who will remain in the organization in a more hands-on role. He’ll work directly with Latin American players in the farm system to help them make the cultural transition to the United States.

That’s a great run-suppression technique.

…last three seasons overseeing the Mets’ Latin American operations as a special assistant to Mets general manager Omar Minaya. Before that, he spent 21 years in the Tigers’ scouting ranks, eventually rising to take charge of their Latin American efforts.
might as well quote some more of it

Great action, so nothing against those both movies, but even for the material in the script….they should have gone different routes with the acting. Megan Fox is hot, but that shouldn’t be enough to put her on screen for nearly 3 hours when she actually has to speak.
By the way, Scarface is excellent. So are Goodfellas, Casino and the Departed.

seen all of the last three. i view classics the same way i do museums where i live that i’ve never been to… i’m sure some day i’ll see them, no sense making a point to hurry up and do it now… gives me something to look forward to.

Turner Classic Movies and a DVR make a nice pair.
Wait 'til next millennium!

This is a fine approach. Except for Godfather I and II. You should see those soon. They are worth it.

Sorry, this “approach” is just idiotic. There are more real classics for you to enjoy, in any number of media, than you have leisure time left on this earth. You’re just leaving yourself less time to enjoy them.

Eh. I’m not remotely worried about this with regards to movies. Books will be a problem. And travel destinations.

You should be more worried that ya realize.

No, but perhaps some sleepin’ with the fishes is in order.
While I’m not head over heels for the Godfathers, as a film/video-student/maker-dude, there is appreciation that has to be paid for the films that said standards for how and why things should be done. And this, is a great example.

Transformers needs to go back in time and never get itself made.
Godfather is a helluva good film.

nor any of the godfathers.
I am alarmed by this. I and II are the apex of what is an American art form.

The man got a productive major leaguer out of Curacao, that’s got to count for something.

I am betting that there is a sausage in Milwaukee that hopes the number of Curacao born ML’s stays minuscule. Seriously though, it seems that recently Curacao is producing more with Jurrjens, Shairon Martis, and Andruw Jones.
