Interestingly enough, for anyone this doesn’t work for, it worked for me in IE.

Well, it works in Safari on my mac. Happy Holidays.

You jest, but it is technically possible to surf the web on a C64, and I suspect the experience is preferable to IE6. IE8 at least doesn’t make me want to inflict brunt trauma upon myself, although I am quite happy that my employer permits Chrome (while banning Firefox).
Some companies mistrust open source software.

Doesn’t have anything to do with the openness of the source. The actual explanation is more laughable – we’re to use IE instead of FF because the latter is deemed a security risk. Really.
We have to use IE because of some way our private bug-logging system works, it goes a little funky with Firefox. I don’t know the details, I just know its a huge pain.

Nobody has to use IE. You code your system for a different browser. Nobody codes a custom system IE except for mediocre sycophant-whores.
