Finally, a terrible announcer gets what he deserves.

Ok, I’ll bite if the mods let me. Was there a preconceived personal dislike of Tiger that feels justified now, or are you just celebrating that someone who allegedly did skeevy things is now paying for it?

I have never been a Tiger fan, no real good reason. That said, I do not enjoy watching anyone go through something like he is currently going through.

Someone else said it and I can’t remember where I read it, but Tiger was almost complicit in his God-like build up.
Wait 'til next millennium!
Well, there’s that.
I was talking more about the infallible, always focused, never distracted persona.
Wait 'til next millennium!
Well, that apparently really is how he is. I don’t see how this even changes that. He just wanted something he wasn’t allowed to have.

On the course, he’s as infallible as he ever was.
Off the course, I don’t think anyone ever said or thought he was infallible.
I’ve heard reports of people thinking he will soften up and be more personable on the course after this incident. As odd as it may sound on the outside, I would really be let down for this to happen. The thing I love about watching Tiger is part of what I seem to remember as a kid watching MJ – he wants to win and nothing is gonna stand in his way as long as he can help it. Not to the point of being outlandishly abrasive, just truly and unflappably determined.
Welcome back, Sandy! ATALECG...
Yeah … I just don’t care about any of that stuff. Doesn’t matter that much to me what his personality is like. He’s not a great charismatic figure, and I just don’t care what the details are.

Did Chip really get canned because he’s a terrible announcer? I mean, how terrible do you have to be to lose your job? There seems to be no limits. He could not have been fired for poor performance. I bet he got the ax because of money, right?
He had time left on his contract so unless he was demanding more or TBS wanted to restructure I don’t see money being an issue. And let’s face it, TBS’ playoff commentary was God awful. Caray and Darling made me want to watch Buck and McCarver they were that bad.
