DeRosa quickly taking leadership role
"Where Wood carries himself with a certain aura that comes with his ability to close out ballgames with a blazing fastball, DeRosa comes in as the scrappy, versatile, whatever's-best-for-the-team type.
You've seen his kind before. His name was Casey Blake.
'There's a lot of similarities between those two guys,' Wedge said."

I like the tag’s ambiguity. Does he increase grittiness fourfold, or by four grittiness units?

Actually, I’m hoping for something more like Trot Nixon, with less pie, and more actual skill.

Facial hair alert.
Now if he can just start butchering half the balls hit to him at 3B, Wedge can get over Blake entirely.
Could someone please explain why everyone insists on comparing DeRo to Casey Blake? Blake’s range at 3B is one step greater than the Statue of Liberty’s; DeRo has the 3B range of a converted SS. Is it just that DeRo sometimes goes with the Don Johnson look facial-hair wise?
I’m still trying to figure this out…

OK. That’s as reasonable an explanation as any I’ve seen.

The void really is who is going to be Wedge’s next man-crush. Jamey Carroll was your clubhouse leader until the NYE trade.
When I say man-crush, I mean that Wedge will defend you during a slump saying that you are a veteran and know how to rebound instead of benching you because of one silly error despite your torrid hitting streak
This seems like a rebound relationship. It’s too soon, Eric. You need more time to heal.
