Around SBN: 2012 Budweiser Shootout Entry List Released

Carlos Santana and Matt Laporta go 26 and 27 respectively, The Weglarz pops in at 58, and some respect for our boy Adam Miller in at 82.

There's also an interesting link here, that breaks down their list looking at where these players signed from, if drafted where in the draft, nationality, etc.

In the chat – which I think is free – they say Huff would likely fall in their 125-150 range. They apparently think he is #3 starter material. Although they say he has a very good chance of reaching that ceiling…which would suggest to me he’s probably a top 50 prospect.

Hello Adam,

I think Huff could at least be a #3; if he continues to demonstrate the high-K ability and consistent low-90s velocity, I don’t think his becoming a #2 is out of the question. That would certainly merit a Top 50 spot if he can display that potential, which I think is a decent possibility based on the information we have about him to this point.

Just my 2 cents.

The "cream of the crop" doesn't always rise to the top.

I don’t think his becoming a #1 is entirely out of the question, or him being better than that. What if last years stunning breakout wasn’t just the start? Who can say that it isn’t?

His age, for one thing.

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

The baffling overrating of Tommy Hanson continues. He’s not in Brett Anderson’s league.

Yeah, but get in a few drinks in Anderson and you never know…

Though I look right at home, I still feel like an exile
