Generally Game Threads over 300 posts or so will really tax older computers (at least that was my experience when I had one), plus it tends to become a bit unwieldy to navigate.
That’s what makes it fun. It’s like spelunking.

Not mine either. I’m just doing it because
*I love the boss I’m working with on it
*It’s a chance to be a co-author on a paper, something people in my position at RAND never get an opportunity to do
But really, I couldn’t care less about the topic, and that’s why I’m really struggling.

We’re trying to put together a handbook with ethical guidelines for people conducting research on malicious insider activity, and by that we basically mean people committing cyber crimes from within a company or organization.

This is my idea for “game thread classics.” Not necessarily the greatest games over the last few years, but the greatest game threads.
First day of spring training last season (and this season), any game where Andy Marte did something sweet, the game where Cliff Lee beaned Sammy Sosa, the origins of Circle of Trust, Wheel of Failure, our long national nightmare, and so on
the Lynde game, clearly. that was also the Sal Fasano game I think
So 2009.

Promise: no swearing this time. unless marte homers.
Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.
why the hell wouldn’t the nationals or pirates or someone terrible take a flier on him though? it’s not like they are going to make the playoffs
Well, the Nats already have Zimmerman holding down 3B and the Pirates have their own failed prospect from another team (LaRoche). I actually thought that might’ve happened just because all the terrible teams are pretty set at 3B.
DISCLAIMER: I may be bitter.
The options thing. The value of a guy who’s out of options and unproven is just not that great.
In fact, his trade value just went up considerably, now that he made it through waivers and can be kept in the minors.
In fact, don’t be surprised if either Marte is traded … or Aubrey is released.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Evidently I didn’t make the point of the “Review Post” clear. It’s great that people were posting feedback on the Annual in that thread, but there was an actual link to the MSP site … where you can Post a Review.
So if you’re killing time and overflowing with the Tribe love right now anyway, why not cruise over to that page (click link above) and post a review of the Annual?

The other day my brother asked me, “So, what are the chances we’ll ever see Marte in an Indians uniform again?”
And I said, well, three things would have to happen, and each of the three is unlikely.
1. Marte would have to clear waivers.
2. Marte would have to kill the ball in Columbus.
3. Wedge would have to be hit by a bus.
That doesn’t really answer your question, but it does flesh it out a bit.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
I think #4 might be Torey Lovullo getting run over by a elephant on the run from the zoo. As Tony posted on his site, it’s going to be interesting now to see where Marte fits into the AAA lineup. The organization must prioritize him over Aubrey, but probably not Hodges, and there are a bunch of other guys of interest on that squad.
This might be a good opportunity for him to learn to throw a knuckleball.
Lead singer and driver of the Winnebago.
It isn’t as simple as it appears. Marte is only nine months older than Hodges and a far better defender. The hitting track record, based on age/level, heavily favors Marte, even if you only count 2007 for Triple-A.
Still, you have to play Hodges at 3B every day, because you’re trying to see if he can be a big-league 3B as a defender, something which Marte already is. Marte just needs to work on his hitting, something he can just fine switching between 3B, 1B and DH. If Garko doesn’t bounce back in a significant way, it won’t take much for Marte to supplant him at least as a bench option. We already know he can bunt.
So when the Indians say, Hodges will be the main 3B in Columbus, that isn’t exactly the same thing as saying he’s a higher priority. There’s no real downside for either player by having Marte be the guy floating around.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Sowers has moved on the rubber.
Also, he’s the same. Many hard hit foul balls, a double to Edgar R and an rbi single to Ishikawa. Also, Garko chased a ball into foul territory then chased it back into fair territory then caught it.
