PD DeRosa Interview
Thoughts:
-Mark shares our collective mencrush on Grady.
-This I feel is a given.
-He feels very comfortable hitting second, especially in this lineup.
-He seems pretty optimistic and hopeful (naive?) about Hafner.
-Uh-Oh
-He's not the most eloquent, camera savvy guy on the team
-I'm relatively surprised by this.
-Is he dipping?

interesting at the end. . . derosa’s talking about westbrook and how highly he thinks of him, and then says something to the effect of “you don’t see too many sinkerball lefties.”
now, is mark just confused, or did the PD splice in another section of the interview where he was talking about laffey?

right, but it seemed like a non-sequitur to me.
like, derosa’s thought process went from :
indians players good -→ jake westbrook tough to face -— > don’t see many left handed sinkerballers
perhaps there were a few implied steps in the logic there, such as “i am mark derosa, a right handed batter. right handed sinkerballers like jake westbrook are tough on right handed batters. i would like to face a left handed sinkerballer!”
(insert between second and third steps above)
it just seemed like a weird place for that observation. whatevs.

DeRosa blew the Tribe’s secret. Jake is returning as a switch-pitcher

I interpreted it as a joke, i.e., Westbrook can’t throw right-handed right now, but he could throw left-handed (in theory).

I’m with Jeff. He’s saying he struggles against the sinker, and he has success against lefties in part because there aren’t many sinkerball lefties.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
