I hate that Dellucci is having a decent spring (thus far). Ben Fran is a better player and Crowe would be a nice bench player to have for pinch running or defensive purposes.

Instead, we have a fungus that MAYBE (best case scenario) will OPS 800 against RHP.

Per MLB, they’ll be rolling out the new MLB.TV media player tonight:

We are pleased to announce a public BETA release of our NEW 2009 Media Player. We will be featuring today’s World Baseball Classic game between the US and Venezuela (6:30 PM ET). Some of the new features that will be available for this BETA release are true HD streaming (where available), LIVE game DVR functionality and true full-screen capability.

I want to see how the HD looks.

Oh, I didn’t make those tables, and I have no idea what the answer to your question is. Other than the text and photos, MSP prepared the player profiles completely, based on data from InsideEdge. They also filled in the 2008 division race chart page, which was a last-minute filler, to be honest. For the other 100-odd pages, the other authors and I came up with all the content.

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

by Voltaire on Mar 11, 2009 10:29 PM EDT up reply actions

Well, I didn’t. But at least it’s well placed, next to Jacob’s piece on the 2009 divisional race.

My favorite comment on the 2008 race comes on page 35. The 44-28 record after July 9 is mentioned several times, but here there’s something extra. Dad mentioned to me that the Indians were 16 games over .500 over that stretch, and he felt that was significant because no team in the division actually finished 16 or more games over .500. I was kicking that around in my head, trying to decide if it was just odd worth commenting on.

I decided not to mention that specific fact, but instead to mention the real significance of that fact: “In fact, had the Indians merely won half their games before July 9, they’d have won the division.” I have not seen that observation made anywhere else.

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.

How the hell am I supposed to get any work done when I can’t put down the annual?

Jhonny’s player bio has got to be the most hilarious player bio I’ve ever read.
