#22 Grady Sizemore, #5 Andy Marte
A re-post of Aaron Gleeman's Top 50 prospects from March of 2004.
He, well, made some mistakes. To be fair I know he isn't the only one.

Derosa, destroying the innocence of our youth.
"Mixed emotions. Rather see him hit PEDroia [with that pitch]. I don’t care if he is in the dugout"

I think the worst three in the top 20 are #s 4, 5 and 6.
Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.
Wow, this brings back memories. I remember the Jeremy Reed vs. Grady Sizemore arguments on the prospect sites, it’s amazing how their careers diverged to the extent they did.
Overall though, he was correct on a lot of guys.
Anybody else see parallels between Jeremy Reed circa 2004 and the current day Brantley? Great bat control (no K’s), not much power, can’t quite stay in CF, etc. It is actually pretty eerie. Brantley is not close to being the 4th best prospect in the game.
When he first started playing pro baseball, Sizemore was talked about mostly as a leadoff hitter. At this point, with his increased power and decreased basestealing abilities, he looks more like a #3 hitter to me.
Now there’s an idea!
Carmona for Cy Young 2009
yeah I think this is pretty accurate. I just hope Dallas McPherson is good this year. I like him for some reason. But I also liked Todd Van Poppel

Yeah, BP had Marte in the top five. And the BA writers had him anywhere from 4 to 16, and his profile was just gushing. And this was all before his success in the high minors.
I don’t want any more Marte spring-training at bats. Just go down to the minors, spend the next 3-4 months working at it, and then we’ll check in with you.
